Well, I was wondering if anyone in the fabulous dis world could help me find a LEGITIMATE work from home opportunity so that I can raise the money for our vacation next summer. We always take 2 weeks in FL, where I'm from, around Memorial Day and have been going to Disney for a few days during that time. However, I am afraid my husband will flip out when I tell him about the 7 days, even though we are only going to be paying for food the other 3 days! We stayed 4 nights last summer and this will end up costing the same for an additional 3 nights... that is good, but he will still say OMG we can't afford it. (We can, but it will hurt) Is there anyone that can help steer me in the right direction towards a chance to earn some money to help out. I am a stay-at-home mom and I really miss having my own income, as then we wouldn't have to be so tight about money when it comes to vacations. I know there are real jobs out there, but have no idea how to differentiate them from the scams. Any advice or info would be appreciated.
If you live in a suburban area or city and are not looking for an ongoing source of income for after your vacation you can try contacting some local temp agencies (Check your yellow pages under Temporary Agencies). You can make a couple hundred bucks a week with no long term commitment and no financial expenditures beyond your gas to get to the job. Temp agencies sometimes have jobs that are evening hours so you can get hubby to babysit. Be warned - the jobs are sometimes off beat or very boring! Through temp agencies I've spent days just catching up a company's filing, been a switchboard operator, a phone call transcription clerk (this was evenings only for 2 weeks and I made $10/hr), I actually once got paid $11/hr to spend three days pasting pictures of liquor stores onto display boards for an Alcohol Distributors conference. Some temp agencies also hire for shipping & receiving departments at mail order/internet companies or for warehouse work if you don't have office talents. It's best to sign up with a couple of agencies as you are more likely to get work. Some of these agencies may also have work at home jobs.
