Ok so Im picky..but...

Can anyone recommend a Hotel nearby Disney but...(heres the clinker)..I want it to be kid friendly in that it has a great kids pool, arcade, playground, foodcourt and possible kid friendly rooms? Yes I know that sounds just like a Disney hotel...I just wanted to check Im not missing anything before we go book POP century. The only thing putting me off POP is the room size...we have a 6yr old and a baby...Im not relishing the thought of squeezing a fridge, stroller and pack and play into one of those rooms...moderate not much bigger and cant afford Deluxe. Oh and NICK is too expensive at $225 a night..thanks.

I just booked at the Marriott Village - but haven't stayed yet so I can't give first hand report yet.

I did like a few things. I also have two children, and staying in one room doesn't thrill me at all. I booked through the mousesavers code, so we got a "Family Suite" which is a larger room (I think) which is sectioned off with a kids' area with either a twin our double bed with a single bunk above, plus a king bed. So someone could sleep earlier I think - I don't think there is a door (but you could call and ask, maybe bring a shower curtain to hang). Free breakfast (continental, but that is what we eat anyway) free parking (rented a car, so yes I'm spending money on that) and a $25 daily credit towards things like food in the food court. My rate is $129 for two nights then $109 the last 4.

It has a food court, plus walking distance to a couple restaurants I guess. Also, they said somewhere you can get delivery from some local restaurants.

It has an arcade, a pool (3 you can use), a fridge in the room, and I think you may be able to get a crib, I'd call about that.

Now it's not a super resort, but my kids like most pools, and I like the amenities I see so far. I am concerned that I heard some school groups use the hotel, so I may call and make sure none are booked our week, or we'll switch to Springhill Suites or the Courtyard.

I had checked out Doubletree Guest Suites in Downtown Disney, which is another good choice with the two rooms (nothing fancy) and they do have room service, which I used once, but they were twice as expensive and don't offer as much.

Oh, yeah, at the Marriott Village there are 3 hotels (not "resorts") and you can use the pool at the Courtyard, which looks like the nicest of the 3.

There are other ideas at Mousesavers - like a few all suite places. You would probably pay about what it is for a value or moderate onsite for a suite offsite.

This is our first time in a long long time to go offsite, but we have two reasons:
1) I have had it with some of the prices at Disney; and
1) We just booked two weeks out, and according to Disney's website, there is nothing available other than some outrageous suites.

Its Caribe Royal - minutes from WDW has a cool pool with kiddie area -all rooms are suites if you have AAA the rate is about $135/night with a king suite - king in the bedroom with I believe it was a queen pull out couch

Its a very nice looking resort but not sure what your exact price would be as I didn't have those dates.

I've also read some reports of great rates at the Hyatt Grand Cypress through priceline/hotwire, etc. If a good pool is important, it doesnt get any better than here...

Bonnet Creek has all that except the food court (only a deli and pizza place). We had a 2 bedroom suite (1 king and 2 doubles), 2 bathrooms, huge living area. Right next door to Caribbean Beach.
2 great pools, one with slide. Also they have their own lazy river with floats.
There was an arcade and organised kids activites aswell as a kids room. Also free internet. Ice cream socials, face painting. Movies by the pool at night. I thought it was great.
We paid $120 a night in December and rented directly from owner. (I posted review on review board)

If you look on the seaworld site they have a buy 3 nights get 2 free deal that includes the Nick Hotel. It might put the nick hotel in your budget range if you are intrested.

also try priceline. We got the marriot renaissance for $80/ni last week. I know I saw Nick hotel on there also

Would you be willing to forgo the food court? If so, look at the townhouses at www.storytimeorlandorental.com. They have themed rooms, pool for the kids, but a fun resort pool, close to the clubhouse, etc. At about $120/night and tons of close restaurants, it would be worth looking at. We can't wait to go there this fall even though we were pretty stoked about staying on-site. I can't imagine now giving up the space the townhouse offers.
