I know I should've done this earlier but many things have been happening at home like gardens being re-done. Walls coming down bedrooms being changed. Bathrooms being fitted. Weddings to attend......

Anyhow as you can see I now have a shiny new Counter for my next trip so I thought I would let you have as much info as my notes, pictures and memories would let me give you. I prefer the long post everything together style so this could get very long...

Are you sitting Comfortably then I'll begin.....

In about February 2003 we decided it might be fun for the Ossies to do a WDW Xmas.

So who are the Ossies...

Me Disneymad Daughter then 29 now the big 30 Eeek Loves the Beast and Eeyore.

Mum Hasn't worked for 7 years due to illness she has Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease. But it has been stable since. Thought I was going to lose her very precious to me. & nervous flyer before even flying!!!!  One final piece of info very picky eater can't eat Garlic.

Dad Just Semi Retired in November so this was a very special present for him. Very little wrong with him except old age and poverty (As he keeps saying!!) His family have very strong constitutions his eldest brother 86 was diagnose with terminal cancer and given 6 weeks tops 4 months ago! I hope I've picked up there longevity genes!!

So that's a bit of info about us....

So we decide that if we are going to do this we need to plan our "test flight"

This is booked for early June. We want a 1BR Villa at the Beach Club so we pay the deposit knowing if we can't go I will change the booking to a solo week.

Anyhow the Test Flight comes round in June. The flight from Manchester to Heathrow is ok and mum is nervous but fine :) :)

One thing that is very funny about British Airways flights even ones where you are in the air for just 45 mins. They serve food, yes a Sandwich or a breakfast. You get this and the drink almost thrown at you and you don't have time to finish properly before they need to clean up!!

Anyhow all is decided we are going for Christmas.

So this is the plan 3 weeks in a 1BR villa at the Beach Club to include xmas and new year and just a few surprises!! I would've loved to have a 2BR but as this is a gift from me a 1BR will have to do....

Next planning and scheming!

jennymouse I will be posting later today had a busytime at work that I wasn't expecting  but hey it pays for my trips. Now if I could just win the Lotto then I could have longer trips! :earsgirl:

I promise that there will be more tonight. Got to go.

Jane

I've been thinking about this and I think Janet2K and myself must have some same ancestory way back hundreds of years ago! I am indeed the chief planner (should that read schemer! (sp)) in our family.

Anyhow given my mums health and not sure whether the nerves would be too much for her I planned (and planned....) to make sure that this was going to be the vacation of a lifetime. Now if we still had our countdowns you would see I have another trip happening in December. "Been there done that going back...." You know the drill!

There were things I wanted Mum and Dad to experience just because you never know what is round the corner. So here goes with a list of the surprises I wanted to do...

1. Have a limo pick us up at the airport Mum especially had always wanted to do.

2. Have a lovely welcome gift waiting for them.

3. Do the VIP tour at Universal Studios. Loved the idea of being sneaked in round the back like celebs.

4. Arrange for me and Dad to do the Backstage tour at AK. Dad loves animals.

5. Arrange for Mum and Me to have a facial at GF. We always say we could happily be very rich!

6. Have Jane and her Pixies at GOAL do a special event.

7. Get some photos taken so there would be some of all 3 of us

8. Have a xmas tree set up when we walk in the room. Well it wouldn't be right without one would it?

Oh yeah and in the midst of this we would do WDW as well :earseek:

A little backround about how I found the Disboards and Jane at GOAL.

Back in February 2002 I broke my arm and was unable to get to work as I have an 100mile round trip every day. I went in to the dentist with a Wisdom Teeth infection prob is they still haven't grown through yet so I hadn't had any sleep for days. Fell over and stopped worrying about the teeth I had more pain to worry about.

I was in the first throws of planning a 30th birthday trip for my best friend Carol and I found out all about the events that GOAL do and thought WOW I've got to do that!

We (me and Carol) ended up doing Carols Birthday Gossip event. Which was great fun! I didn't tell mum or dad about this because I knew if I ever got mum on the Plane I would love to do something special with them....

Part 2 is happening now as we speak Mickey has been busy booking airline tickets and getting quotes to stay at POR beginning December isn't he a busy fellow!!! ::MickeyMo

He seems to have left cards and presents and be planning a party to celebrate. Now if I could just converte some American recipes into UK he may even be planning a WDW menu!

and I'm hoping Part 3 will happen if AP codes come out for Wilderness Lodge. I think it will be really good if the car just takes us there"" :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Mum and Dad really liked it there when we ate at Artist Point.

Normally computer is upstairs so I can scheme away as much as I like but at the moment it is downstairs so while the cats away (well mum and dad) the mouse will well and truly play.

So how to keep surprises when you want to shout from the roof tops and you can't share with the people most important to you. Well friends and Colleagues were getting a daily update. They new how long to go..... I'm sure that they must have thought me mad!!

And you know I'll be counting down again soon....

Thankfully none of my surprises were really difficult to arrange. The only one my mum thought I would do was the Limo because I had done that one for my friend but it was fun and something she'd always wanted to do.

Next final preparation....

Now having re-scheduled the schedule many times I think. Yes I have it sorted well no I don't

Dad decides he wants to do Kennedy OK I start looking for a trip to do that and find one eventually.

Don't these people I already have things sorted?!?!

Well no they don't still haven't let anything slip. Anyhow I am not changing the schedule any more I might take some PS out but thats that. Thankfully that is that I can now start worrying about what to pack and getting my hair sorted.

I have a permanent straightening done. Fantastic results only problem is it takes about 6 hours at the salon and you can't get it wet for 48 hrs and it stinks.

I think the smell is like wet dog its disgusting. Therefore getting this done and not ending up smelly at work requires planning.

Yes indeed I went into a job in planning because I am a planner

There I've said it I admit it but thats the truth! Do you think there should be a thing as a support group for people who do too much planning.?

After what seems like an age we are at my last day at work. So at least my colleagues can get away from how many minutes to go!

The last thing we had to do was the hairdressers to get my colour sorted this was the Friday afternoon before we fly the only problem was more decisions i'm changing to something new but what????

Decision made hair sorted everything sort must go to bed to sleep (sleep right!) long day ahead tomorrow need sleep.

But I'm too exited to sleep
