Last week DH said he had pain in his neck, he has been having sinus issues for 4 months or so and the doctor kept giving him meds but it would go away and come back.

Now he has neck pain, ok the doctor said the area is swollen and he feels something in the neck. He send DH to have a CAT scan. Got the results today and the doctor said he has polyps and needs to go see an ear nose and throat guy. We have an appt on Wed with a specialist.

So I am freaking out, what does this mean? I looked on the internet and I see nose polyps but nothing about neck polyps. DH did have skin cancer (pretty bad one) a few years ago but goes for checks twice a year and is ok. Could this be linked?

Sorry to vent but I needed to let it out, I cannot talk to my mom as she will be hysterical and my sister keeps telling me it is nothing. Thanks for letting me get it out.

Sorry I didn't post before, like a lot of people probably didn't know what to say. Just wanted to send you:hug: today. Please let us know what the specialist says. I'm thinkin' about ya'll today.

Try searching under thyroid nodules. I do know that the thyroid is a very common area to have growths and MOST of them are benign. I know it's eaier said than done, but try not to panic. I'm also sending prayers your way!

Thanks you guys. We are going to meet with a specialist at 3:15 today so I hope it is nothing. The worst part is they didnt tell us where the polyps are and the only thing I am finding online is thryoid or nasal polyps.

The waiting is the most terrible thing ever!

How's your DH? I tried to PM you, but it wouldn't let me.

Just had a CT scan (negative, thankfully) on Sunday fro recurrent neck pain, so I am empathizing with your DH and just wanted to tell you that I said an extra little prayer for you all!

Hope the appt. went well and you are all resting easier now! Take Care- Lisa:hug:

Thanks for your thoughts, they mean a lot to me.

The doctor said they were nasal polyps which are very common (wish the first doctor told me that). He said DH does have bad muscle spasms, he put him on different muscle relaxers, Celebrex and different pain meds. He wants him to go to physical therape twice a week for 3 weeks and then check him out again. If it has not improved he has to get a MRI and possibly epidural shots every three months. He cannot lift, push, pull, stretch, strain etc for 3 weeks...luckily that is not something he does in his day to day but there goes my "Honey Do" list I had for this weekend!

We are headed back to WDW in 3 weeks so the doctor said no rough rides or things that will jerk him around. So this is going to be a very short weekend trip and a very relaxing one. Thank goodness we are staying at the Poly so we can have fun chilling out and then go out for a nice dinner. I think I am going to schedule a massage for him to help loosen him up.

What really freaked me out was our original doctor...I wish he could have told me they were just nasal polyps so I would not have stressed myself out....I mean the new doctor showed me the copy of the CAT scan and it says right there in black and white NASAL POLYPS!

Again I cannot thank you guys enough for your kind words and thoughts, it really helped me more than you know.

Aw...what a relief! Nasal polyps are minor in the big picture, thank goodness!

Man, your DH sure does go for the Academy Award when trying to get out of those "Honey Dos", doesn't he?:lmao:

Very similar to my diagnosis as I have muscle spasms and muscle tension that does not relax, so then I get swelling and pain also. Lovely! I can SOOOO relate.

Glad that other than some inconvenience, he is good-to-go! (Now, he REALLY owes you a nice meal on vacation since he stressed YOU out so much also!);)

You are so funny! How do you deal with your pain? Did you go to rehab or anything? I hope it doesnt put you out at all!

I drink heavily....:lmao: Actaully, that's just recreationally....:rotfl:

No, seriously...I take 4 Motrin at a time when I need to,(not everyday, all day) make sure I have a good pillow (neck pain + crummy pillow = absolute misery!), stand under the hot shower as long as my children will let me without breaking anything expensive in the house each morning, and over time, it is getting better. My Dr. suggested PT, but I only went once to figure out what stretches to do as my insurance is sad and it was pricey for "supervised stretching"...

I have had this issue off and on for almost 10 years- thought I was having a stroke at 22 when it first happened as the muscle spasm caused swelling which impeded blood flow and my arms and legs went numb and started tingling....scary!:scared1:

Anyway...if you need/want more info., feel free to PM me! Hope your DH is on the mend! If nothing new arises, mine will be non-restrictive for my Sept. trip and I'll be riding everything I can!:)
