ok question about rides

maybe its just my worry some mommy stuff kicking in but dose space have something that holds kids down (like a lap bar?) my son loved it and we will go on it again but i just am spacing and worrying lol
also what rides dont hold kids down. (i know splash dosent but my dh held ds last nov-dec so im hoping he can do that again, and the Matterhorn too.

Space has individual lap bars as you sit side by side, if memory serves.

Remember, Matterhorn has two seat belts, one for each of you, again, if memory serves.

It's been a few months (we don't go but once a year since we had the girls) - I think Space is a shoulder harness. My brain may be temporarily confusing it with Rock and Roller at WDW though. Happens! If it isn't, it's a very tight lap bar.

Indy is a lap belt and a taller height restriction. How old/tall is your son?

Hes gonna be six...not sure how tall he is. But if he cant make it...we'll go on the Jungle Cruise while Jade goes on Indy...lol

we were there in august '07, and my daughter, then six, was tall enough to ride space for the first time. i think the individual lap bars is correct. and i remember holding onto her the whole time...the way the train whips around, combined with the fact that the lap bar didn't really come down far enough on her (it was down as low as it would go), made me really nervous. but they take off so fast i didn't have time to ask the CM about it. so i literally had my arm around her and held onto her throughout the whole ride. it was really uncomfortable for me, but she loved it. and, i've never heard of a child falling out of it.

SM does have the individual bars. I used to be nervous about my kid being secure on the rides and either I or my dh would hold on tight. I have 2 DD's (6 and 10). Both love all the big rides and have their hands in the air at every opportunity. I've relaxed a lot now seeing how much fun they have and have never come close to falling out on any of the rides. Their favorite now is Screamin.

The HL is 40 inches and my almost 3 year old road it in the front seat with my arm wrapped around him! I felt like a terrible mother through the ride, but he loved it and went again. We have a priceless photo of him looking like a deer caught in headlights in the front seat of SM. The bar wasn't bad, but I wasn't confident because it was jerky and fast.

Now the one I'm a bit iffy on is big thunder, that's one bar, and it's not tight. DS slides all over the bench, so we hang on every time.

I totally know what you mean! I was quite concerned beforehand. We started out small at the Go Coaster which we figured he'd like (and did), then we worked our way up. We told him about all the rides before and he always wanted to go anyway. DH was quite insistent that he'd be okay (they are both adventurous and daring personalities). The only one DS has hesitated about is Snow White, though sometimes he will and sometimes he won't!

I still haven't let him on HM without the NBC overlay though. That scared the heck out of me as a child so I've veto'd DH's wishes every time.

I wouldn't be surprised if DS makes it to 46 inches (with shoes) by our December trip and tall enough to ride Indy. He'll be just shy of 4 years old.
I'm sure he'd love the jeep ride itself, but the theming inside scares even me as an adult! It's DH's fav ride though. So I'm not sure whether DS can handle it. Might have to let him watch a you tube video and see what he thinks. How have others' young kids reacted to Indy their first times?

snow whites evil queen my son hates so that rides a no no now and he doesn't like Carealla diviel even tho her line was empty he said no and wouldn't go see her. he really hates her i mean hates its bad for him to hate her but idk maybe its all the animal loving he has.

ty that link put alot of worry to rest. heck he doesn't want to do soring but he wants to do tot lol well soring will get a baby swap with me and dh dh wants to go on it never been i liked it it was interesting but not a must do

There's no need to be worried about BTMRR, it has the bar for both people to share but also the seat is very boxy, hard to get in and hard to get out.
