I was looking at prices to stay at FW March 7th-10th for my birthday weekend. It's the 8th in case somebody wants to send presents lol. Anyway I type in my dates and it comes back $84 friggin dollars a night. I mean what is with that. It was about $10 less a night for a pop up. I'm thinking like Gatordad and not going to be at the fort too much this upcoming year. There's other places around that might not be Disney and on property but at least I'll not have to get a loan to go there. This is even more than our 4th of July trip. I guess it's the spring break time so they jack it up a lot.

Well Happy Birthday sorry its early but I'll have a difficult time remember between know and then:rolleyes1 That is expensive for a camp site I thought 73.00 a night was crazy for April! I know I have elected to stay at another Disney resort for January because I just could not justify the difference when I figured in gas. I really do Like FW! I just will need to expore other options.

I hear you and for this upcoming trip from 12/24 to 1/1 2007 the rate is 102.38 deposit (holiday peak) and from 1/1 to 1/25 which I think is value is $61.88 deposit so it has gotten more expensive and sounds like the $84 is peak rates. FW is not any bargain anymore, but still cheaper than a resort in most cases when you have the amenities of your trailer.

For our 10/20 to 12/1 2008 ressies the rates we got were $52.88 deposit so that has to cover the Thanksgiving period so I can't say what is happening there.

We just go with the flow ... I want ... they have ... and I pay :sad2:

What really burns my butt about the new pricing is that when Disney runs discounts at the value resorts they can be cheaper than what I am paying for a preferred site.

www.sanland.com I hear ya, it's getting crazy, at least if they rook you in the value resort, sometimes they throw in mozzerella sticks or something.

HFB, my daughter is 3/9. We'll make you a combo cake.

The fort...... just isn't the blue collar resort that it was meant to be........:sad2:

Wow, my bday is the 8th as well. Ok, I gotta sing, "It's a small world after all." You must be special. I love going to WDW for my bday, but I am with ya about the price. With my crew though, it is the cheapest way. I may be looking into the rental homes if they go up much more though.

I am not a big fan of the new pricing either. I think the motorhome will be staying in the driveway more often this coming year. And, by the way, since we are mentioning March birthdays....

mine 3/13
anniversary 3/2
DH 3/28

The state gets a lot of money from me in March for tag renewals....:headache:

I just told my husband your rates and he said 'that's a suite!!' He meant Lake Buena Vista Suites. It's $88 or so a night, sleeps 6 and includes a full breakfast.

Yea and it doesn't include the $5/nite for the two 4 legged members of the family. While we pay $5/nite for the dogs, it would cost us around $35/day to board them, so for us it's still worth the $$$. We've always had two dogs and before FW starting allowing pets we boarded the dogs at Bass Kennels and because they were/are long haired we had to take a couple of hours about every third day to go groom them and spend some time with them.

It a darn shame when a working class family can't afford to take thier family to the fort over spring break.........

That never was a problem in the 80s and 90's........

Disney's all about the money!!!! I love the Fort but I'm thinking about other places to stay too. I'm booked for Dec 30 through Jan 4th 08, $100 a night for a slab of concrete we need to voice this to Disney and I mentioned to them that people are going to stop going if they keep this up. Well there reply in a nice way is oh-well.

it's mostly the florida folks that are upset. The folks that come from Wisconsin or whatever only are there for a week, and to them, it's an extra $100 for the week, so they don't care as much. They don't care. If you give up your spot, there is someone else right behind you to give them $$$$

I hear you about the prices. I love FW. For each trip I count down the days and can't wait to pull into the campground. I have the best memories of each trip. I love just getting up early in the morning and walking down to the marina, picking up a cup of coffee and just enjoying the place. But the price of Disney is going beyond reason. I hate to say it, but I think we are going to have to take a break from Disney .....at least for a couple years. It really makes me rather sad.

Yeah.... its those people from Wisconsin or whatever. ;)
never mind the $3.50 diesel fuel to get there.

Maybe instead of trying to free up space at FW by raising prices they could have built ANOTHER campground ????? :thumbsup2

$60 a person for HDDR........for a family show

$100 a nite for camping.............there is no way that even Walt himself was that blood thirsty.......

What are they going to do when the white-haired army leaves the camping scene?????

They'll have to make up the revenue by charging $90 for HDDR and $120/night to camp, plus $10pp over two at the site.

They need to include a cart for that freaking price.

Now don't think that these prices don't affect us Wisconsinites! I take that personally. We went down in 2006 over spring break only because it was the only time we could go and DH had to use his vacation up by the end of that month. We said we would never go at peak season again. It just about killed me to pay over $90 a night to camp FW or not. Oh, and by the way we were there for 2 weeks. I can't see driving that far for any less time. Trust me if it was cheaper to stay and gas was less we would be there more. We have been known to go more than once a year even though we live in Wisconsin. :thumbsup2

No intent to insult was made to the fine folks of Wisconsin. I could have easily used Michigan or Iowa or Maine. They just know that folks like you will come for 2 weeks to make the trip worthwhile, spending money on parks etc, wheras us FL people will come for short trips, with annual passes and don't spend as much.
