How long before you travel do you normally get your tickets? We go on Sunday for our first trip to DLP but our tickets haven't arrived yet. We were hoping to spend Friday & Saturday in London before we go but Im getting a bit twitchy as to whether we'll have our tickets in time to do that. What will happen if our tickets don't arrive :worried::worried::worried:

Ours arrived on the Thursday before we were due to go on the Monday.

What have they said when you've asked where they are?

I used to work in a travel agents and tickets always used to come to the agency 2 weeks prior to travel.

Have you chased them up. I NEVER trust Royal Mail so I'd be on the phone straight away!

Forgot to say - don't panic as they can always arrange for tickets to be picked up at the airport and the accommodation can be faxed to you or in this day and age - scanned and e-mailed to you

Hope this helps

Janet

I've spoken to Thomas Cook who have said that the ticketing office has moved to Bradford which is causing delays and that Eurostar have shortened the length of time before they can process the train tickets. They've said that the tickets 'should' be in on Thursday! If they're not here then they can do a 'Ticket on departure' but wont that mean that I have to go and sort things out with the hotel etc to get my park entry. When all I really want to do is dump the bags at the station and head straight into the park for some fun fun fun!!!

I had the same problem with Eurostar 2 weeks ago - we had to pick our tickets up the morning we left from Ashford by quoting a reference number. The DLRP tickets should be sent out with the Eurostar reference number - that's how it worked with us and ours was with Thomas Cook too.

Thanks dlpSteve, I'm glad its not just me, and that things do get sorted one way or another. It just all feels a bit disorganised, I'm used to having my tickets at least 10 days before travel so I know I'm all sorted and ready to go. Hopefully by lunchtime Sunday I'll be in the park with all this worry behind me.

I can afford to be calm looking back, at the time I was ringing every day and continued to do so until I got the tickets and reference number through. Like you I was expecting the tickets much earlier but at least it all got sorted in the end. In a few days you'll be there and not even remembering the ticket hassle - pumpkin men are good at making you forget about stuff!

<<I NEVER trust Royal Mail >>

You sure know how to hurt a postie's feelings ;-)

No offence Postie if you're a regular Post Man. Ours is fantastic - however, around here we also get lots of casuals and you can always tell as we get everybody else post and often it's just left under a brick in the garden!

I know exactly what you mean about liking everything organised and in hand. I don't travel well at the best of times - I'm all right once I'm there but I have kittens standing waiting for buses and trains to come. I'm always terrified I'm either going to miss it entirely or end up going the wrong way :lmao:

It's never happened yet but I get very nervous if things are were they should be when they are expected. :confused3 :confused3

Outside my home town I struggle to stick a fork on a plate without a clear map and full instructions. :lmao: :lmao:

I've just had a phone call from Thomas Cook to say that my tickets arrived this morning   I've tried to weedle the afternoon off work to go and get them but I've got a meeting to go to that I can't get out of. My boss obviously doesn't realise the importance of getting these tickets. I tried the swooning faint trick but as I had made sure it was into a comfy chair and I was laughing at the time he didn't quite believe me! Oh well back to the grindstone :surfweb:

I think that's very unfair of your employer not to let you collect your tickets! :rotfl2: It's a Union issue at least I'd have thought.

Phew, what a relief! :faint:

My thoughts exactly!!

Although we haven't got actual Eurostar tickets, when I picked everything up from the travel agents they gave me a letter to take to the Eurostar desk at Waterloo and they will issue the tickets!

Next time I think it will be a DIY trip!
