We did the shoe discussion, and I've got some teva's coming.

Now, how do you all handle bras in the heat??? We were there for a few days last may that were deadly hot. As I recall, it took 2 days to air dry my brassieres, and I was changing them as soon as I got to the room. I don't have 16 of them to bring, and I was getting a little annoyed at having them hanging around, drying.

I was thinking about sprots bras, but I broke my arm this spring, and I still can't get tight clothing on over my head.

What do you experienced, summer women do? (Background: not very large, but modest enough to not go "au naturel", or even no lining. Old enough to need some support, but small enough to be wireless!)

woops - I just posted a new thread instead of a reply called "i know" talking about bras. People are going to look at that and think I am nuts!! hehe!

Anyway - I think tank tops w/ built ins are the way to go - less straps and less heat in "that" area. Macy's also has "breathable" bras.

If you go to roadrunnersports.com (as well as other sites, I'm sure) you can find sportsbras that zip up the front, thus eliminating the over the head problem!

Hmm, suzanne, have you ever found shirts with the built in bras that are a looser fit? The one's I've seen are skin-tight, not my favorite "look" for me. I may have to get to macy's to check out those breathable ones.

Hadn't heard of zippered sportsbras, I'll look for some. Since I only get to Target on a regular basis, I kind of base my shopping experience on that!

I can't believe I stumbled onto this thread today! I was driving along in the car yesterday and thought, What i'd like to see on the Dis is a thread about comfortable UNDERWEAR!
No Lie! and today, hear it is.

My all time favorites are made by "Barely There" . These are my exclusive Disney trip undies. guaranteed no wedgie underpants. Don't fall down, don't creep up, don't show those awful VPL's (lol) and they also have stretchy, COMFORTABLE bras and camis too. Even with a broken arm in a cast you would have NO PROBLEM getting these bras on. This line is great because they are light as a feather and don't make you all sweaty.
I hate wearing hardware, (underwires + metal clasps- don't they just bug you when you have to sit up against a hard seat!?!, get all itchy frim padding, and can't stand that hot smooshed bound up feel that sports bras give you, especially in 100 degree weather.
I am in the southeast. Barely there has an extensive line of styles available at Kohl's and Belk here.

Clutter, thanks for bringing this up !

Definitely try roadrunnersports.com, tons of sports bras with a variety of closures. I don't know how small is small, but as a person who is an "A" I can vouch for the hanes cotton bras. I got mine at walmart, just a few dollars, they are very light weight, small straps and all cotton. In the summer I put away all the miracle/wonder bras and wear only these. In terms of underwear, again I say roadrunnersports.com, some coolmax undies will set you back a bit, but you will be very happy (and not sweaty!).

I live in Florida and now how awful it feels to wear a nasty sweaty bra. When we got out to do things like zoos parks, ect. i just wear a bikini top under my shirt. im not a thin person so i would never wear one out in public. But i have about three or 4 just the top parts of bikinis that I don on under my tank tops.they are much easier to clean dry faster and don't make you have that nasty feeling.I forgot to wear one when we went to 6 flags new orleans a couple of weeks ago, and will never do that again!
i hope that helps!

I like the tanks at New York & Co. (Lerner). They have either the lining or (for more support) the built in padded bras.

I am going to Kohls tomorrow to look for the barely there undies. My friend gets hers from Victoria's Secret, but I don't want to pay those prices!

Thanks for the tips.

They're wicked hot in the summer. I'm lucky that "the girls" aren't too big so I can get away with wearing bras that don't have any wire in them(I can't imagine these are comfy...).
Recently at Walmart I found bras I could live with! Made by Fruit of The Loom, they look like sports bras but with spaghetti straps!! I love them!! They are sold 3 for $9.99. I'll see if their website has them and post it here.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Not in a cast now, but it'll be a while until I have full motion in my shoulder, and so far, the hardest thing to do is put on clothes! As for bikini tops, That's acrtually a good idea, if I can find some cheap sales. I'm thinking the nylonish ones dry faster than cotton? Of course, that would necesitate a bathing suit trying-on- trip, which in my book is only worse than a bra-trying-on trip.

Ok next question, are those barely there's and hanes really thin??? I mean, seeing as we'll be there in the heat of the summer, we'll be doing lots of popping into VERY airconditioned areas... I've always preferred a bit more coverage than those single layer of cotton knits allow. But I'm seeing the sense of the thinner layers.

Stacilee, glad to have helped!!!

Victoria Secret's "Signature All Cotton undies and bras". I wear the bikinis and the full coverage underwire (I know, too much info) which I tried about 10 years ago and have never found anything that fits better or is more comfy.

BTW, they are on sale now until June 30, I believe.

Oh, vancouverfoppa, great stuff, but I needed that 10 years and 20 pounds ago!!!

Airhead, I may chek them out. I've got a long list of Wal-Mart items I need to get. My girls may be small enough to not need wire, but they're old enough to wobble. Now, we just need to keep them contained and keep my hotel room from being littered with half-dry lingerie!

clutter- i got my bikini tops at walmart. i think i paid $12.99 for one and i think they have some on sale for $7 something. just depends on if you can find the size...
i also see you will be going the same time i do. where are you staying?

Hey tinkandhood, we're at the dolphin! (just me and my 7 year old dd) Got a good rate on Hotwire, so we're trying it out. Hmmm, I'll add bikinis to my Wal-Mart list. With the rest of my hot-weather gear, like misty mates. I'm not a heat-tolerant person, so this trip will be an experience. When we were there last may, I was dripping with sweat when the majority of the people there were simply "glistening". Even at night!

Got soem tevas coming, thanks to the theme parks board, and planning to buy some bikini line products thanks to the community board. Now, if we can work out the undergear, I'll be ready!

Oh well, it's still disney, and I'm still excited!

Please post the brand name of this bra. I'd really like to check it out.

Thanks!

I "live" in my Gap tank tops with their "support system". It is light bra support built into the tank top. I will probably wear them the entire trip! They also go on sale really cheap at the end of the season.

Great ideas everyone........any tips for those of us who are a little more..........hm......generously endowed? Trust me, none of you want me or my "girls" in only a tank top with light support! Wow, just the thought makes me want to avoid TOT and BTMRR!!

okay - I looked it up...

The name of the bra is BALI - it is their "Cool Stretch Lining" bra. Item #3551.

Actually I got them at Hecht's/Strawbridges department store but I am sure they are at Macy's too. They were $29.00 each but were on sale BUY 2, GET 2 FREE. 1 bra was immediately free at register and the other was a mail in rebate - FYI: you will only get white colored one as a mail in so buy accordingly. Really $60 bucks for 4 bras wasn't that bad.

They come in every size - up to 42 DD but I think they are underwired after a certain size. I don't know if it will help in 100 degree weather but it feels lighter and they stay put all day. I actually prefer them over most other bras even on cold days.
