My mother used to say that to me when I was little and would say that I wanted things. I'd start my I want, I want and she would say, people in hell want ice water. Of course I say it to my kids when they start wanting everything.

Well, what goes around comes around. When DS was younger and stayed overnight at my parents, my mother said, I want... and Justin told her that people who live with the devil want ice water.
