I feel for you. We were originally booked on the cruise last week, but my dh who is now 5, wanted to go to WDW. So last February, we canceled our hidden porthole cabin and booked a trip to WDW. I felt so sorry for everyone when I heard.

You've gotta stop thinking bout it. Take your pts and your 1/2 off coupon and you and DS take a cruise, possibly in the summer? Your DH didn't really want to go anyways and this way you could use some of your pts that need to be used by next year. It may make a nice summer break. I, like alot of people have been worried about you. I too would be mad about having to use more pts. to stay at the moderate than DVC ( I may have even paid cash to stay outside the park IF I had it which usually I don't But at least you were there. It was freezing here in Mass last week. You were so stressed before the cruise and seem just as stressed now. It takes too much energy to stay upset and obsessed. Start planning your next vacation and look into cruising w/ your son to use up some of those points.

Umm all that cleaning, etc has just piled up for me. Now I get to shovel our frozen driveway, do mountains of laundry, go food shopping on a Sun because DS needs school lunches, etc. So yup I put it off for a week but now I have even more of it!

You can moan and complain all you want but the bottom line is most of the things you are feeling sorry for yourself about are things many of us would kill for. If you went on your MAGICal cruise you would have come to laundry, an iced over driveway and food shopping. Time to get over it and move on!!!

Let's play nice. Cut Barb some slack. Reading back over the board, it's obvious how much she planned for this cruise - down to every last detail that I wouldn't even think about. She was obviously really looking forward to her first cruise and put a lot of work into it.

Yes, she wants to come home and gripe a little bit. Put yourself *exactly* in her situation and you might feel like doing the same. It's not as if it's been 3 months since this happened and she's still holding on to it. She's *just* returned from Florida without having the vacation she expected. A few days recovery time isn't too much to ask for.

I think we will end up agreeing to disagree. If you come to the DIS expecting total agreement you are expecting something not based in reality. If she wanted sympathy then apparently this wasn't the place to get it. Much like RL when not everyone cares how or what you feel but some do care.

I think she has the sympathy of the Dis, but we all know that the cruise was cancelled. Its time to get back to real life. MANY people's cruises were cancelled. Life has to go on. I would hate to think people would stay "obsessed" w/ the cancellation...(I'm not saying I'MGOINGTODISNEY is ) but in the scheme of things since 9-11 priorities change.

I have no problem with anyone complaining about a cancelled cruise, no matter what the extent of their planning. But one thread should suffice. Imgoingtodisney, however, inundated nearly every thread this morning with her continued grief over the loss of "her" cruise. It has become an obsession and counselling might well be in order. This statement was not meant in any way, shape or form to be a flame. If this is normal female behavior then I owe my divorce attorney an additional heartfelt "thank you."

Once again Buckaroo's Dad... you seem to not understand people very well. I too was "bumped" from the 11/30 cruise, which we were very much looking forward to. Luckily, we went on the 12/1 Wonder. It wasn't what we wanted (we wanted a 7 day cruise and would NEVER have booked a 4 day)... but, because I am different than Barb (very optimistic - to a fault) I turned lemon into lemonades. But, still wish that we were on the 7 day. Barb didn't get to experience the "cruise" at all. I feel for her. I would have hated to spend 10 days at Disney (we enjoyed our 2 days just fine).
You seem to enjoy giving people a hard time (including me in the past - and many others who PM'd me with comments about you)! I don't care if I get in trouble with the webmasters, as someone needs to finally stand up to you!!!!
