I was recently at Disney with some family and we definitely did the whole 'My Disney Experience' thing wrong.
My brother has his own account with his family and he set up all of the dining reservations under his account. I added the resort reservations to my account and as such, set up my brother and his family under my account as friends managed by me. This way we were able to get fast passes through my account, but we discovered that only he could see the dining reservations and only I could see and modify the fastpasses.
Eventually we found the option to connect a friend and share plans and we did that so I could see the dining reservations and he could see the fastpasses, but because the resort reservations and tickets were tied to the people on my account he was still unable to modify the fastpasses for his family.
We got worked through it, of course and still had a great trip, but now I'm planning a trip with my sister in a few months and I want to make sure that we do this right.
I'm assuming that my sister will need to set up her own account for her family and add their annual passes to it, then I'll need to share my plans with her and add her family to my account. But then how do we add the resort reservations since we'll be staying together in a large DVC unit? It looks like the resort reservations can only be added to one account. If one of us adds the reservations and connects it to our friends that are managed in another account will that work?
Ideally we'd both like the ability to make fastpass and dining reservations for our own families, as well as the entire group for things that we want to do together. And, of course, we'd both like the ability to manage those reservations, or at least the ones that pertain to our own families no matter who made the original reservation. Is that even possible?
