Ok so I have the Hojo booked for the 27th-3rd. I just found a room at the anaheim plaza inn and suites for $100 total less...my question is, should I stay at the hojo, or is the anaheim just as good? I'm looking for something SAFE and clean for my DS4 and mommy only trip. Thanks so much!

I haven't stayed at the anaheim plaza, but I stayed at HOJO for one nite last month. It was just me and my dd2. I was given a handicap room on the ground level and honestly, it gave me the creeps. I had a difficult time getting to my room (it was dark when I checked in), not realizing that I could go through the building that was between me in the parking lot and my room (the front desk offered no info on how to get to the room). Instead I walked around it, all while pushing a stroller and carrying about 3+ bags and it was just creepy to me. I don't care for the layout of their buildings. The next morning I walked to the parks and it was ok during the daytime but it's a bit of a walk. Since I only stayed a few hours in the parks, I wasn't tired coming back, but I don't think I'd stay there when I would have the walk after a long day. Also, I would loathe a walk back for nap time. I've stayed at both Park Place Inn and Desert Inn/Suites and while neither are diamond stars, I can make luxury concessions for the closeness to the parks. The one thing I found odd was when I stayed at HOJO, no one was around - I think that's what scared me a bit - someone jumping out from a bush...while at the other two hotels I mentioned, it seemed like there was always lots of people coming and going so I wasn't afraid.

We always stay at Hojos and I have never felt like it was scary or unsafe. I have taken my girls with my (female) cousin and her kids and we were fine. Hojos is super clean and the staff is great.

We have stayed at hojos many times this last year. We always feel safe at the hotel. I like the interior corridors, it's well lit too.
it's usually me DD13 and DGD1.

hmmmmm never stayed at anaheim plaza inn but that is cheap

You might as well stay at hojo, anaheim plaza inn charges 5 bucks parking a day and 2 dollar resort fee.

You would save 3 bucks a day I dont think its worth it.

Thank you everyone! I have decided to stay at hojo. For some reason having all these DISers stay there that week and the interior doors makes me feel safer. I don't know why I keep second guessing myself, I guess because its my first trip without another adult. Besides, I'm looking forward to the Pirates Cove now! I may and go check out the Anaheim Plaza while I'm there for future trips, though! Everyone that's going, don't forget your LGM and have a great vacation!

Sarasmommy you should have asked the best way to get to your room when you checked in. The HoJo staff is stellar, they would have been happy to help you. :)
I've stayed at HoJo a ton of times and I never once felt scared or creepy. In fact it's one of our favorite Anaheim hotels. :)

OP I did stay at the AP once, it was fine but not as nice as the HoJo. Keep checking with the HoJo for the Ent Rate, it just might show up last minute.

Yes..I suppose I should have cuz I was really looking forward to it being a great stay from what the Dis'ers have said. I had stayed at the Grand California the nite before and wasn't planning on staying another nite, but it got too late to drive 6+ hours home (coudn't pull myself out of the park!) It was way after 9 when I checked in. I had the entertainment card so went there knowing it was only $59. It wasn't that the staff was rude/not nice...I guess I was just not orientated and honestly couldn't find how to get to the inner building...for some reason it seemed like I couldn't get through from the front but in the morning saw that I could. I'll have to admit that the handicap room was large and the bathroom huge. While there was in interior door, the was also a back door out into somewhere (didn't explore) so I think that added to my feelings. I'll probably give it another chance...maybe a time when I'll actually use the pool that gets such great raves.

Well I'm definitely familiar with your drive! LOL It's the same as mine, until you get to 12, you turn right and we turn left. LOL :) It's hard to do when you're tired so I don't blame you for staying an extra night. I hope you do give them another chance, our girls LOVE the pool!
