Ok, I have learned my lesson , I will never again at age 41 try to do...

:teeth:

Hope your body bounces back soon. :)

LOLOLOL! Congratulations!! Sorry you're now in pain though. I remember trying one a couple years ago. It was not pretty. Ha! The tumbling and gymnastics days are done. ;)

I did the same thing the other day. I can usually lift my foot above my head. So, my cousin was practicing ballet..and I went to do it. Well, being 6 months pregnant..it just doesnt work as well!

I am sorry you are in pain!

Good for you for doing it! :cheer2:

Sorry you are in pain though. :flower3:

You are a brave woman.....that is all I can say. Feel better.:D

I have done the same thing and regretted it. I never had a problem at 16; it's not fair that doing one round off now could cause so many aches and pains. I stopped showing the kids front and back walkovers a few years ago - when I finally got smart.

Doesn't it stink. I'm 42 and I swear my mind says I will do this and my body doesn't listen! The best one was when I tried to double dutch jump rope with the 8th graders at work this year. I jumped in, my brain said jump and I landed on my BUTT. Well it gave all of them a huge laugh, even made the yearbook. Remember when...........

:teeth:
I'm very impressed that you landed on your feet...I fell on my rear the time my DD's said "please, mommy, please..." At least you got a little glory for your sore-y!!! Reminds me also of the time DD's wanted me to go across the monkey bars. Funny thing, my feet just wouldn't get off the ground!

This is just too funny. Before clicking on this thread, I had a feeling it was going to say you'd never do another cartwheel! LOL I guess it's because I was out back doing them myself a few weeks back trying to get my daughter to straighten her legs a little more.

I impressed my daugher too cause my legs were perfectly straight. Then I had to do MORE to show her what she's doing wrong (like that really helped?). I was in pain for a few days afterward too, so I sympathize with you! :p Our bodies just are getting TOO old!

Your story reminds me of when my kids were really little DH would sometimes walk on his hands to make them giggle. Then he would wonder the next day why his sides were so sore  !

Goodness. I'm 37 and wouldn't dare try that anymore.
Thank goodness it wasn't a round-off back handspring LOL

I would've clapped for you too.:teeth: I tried to do that for my kids one time and my elbows and shoulder and butt and hip and thighs and everything in between has yet to forgive me.:p

This story reminds me of the time my 65 year old grandmother decided to show us kids the proper way to climb a tree (apparently we weren't doing it "right") She got up just fine but forgot about the arthritis in her hands. As she was hanging from a branch with her hands, they just let go by themselves. She fell about 8 feet landing on her behind. Once my grandfather made sure she was ok (he had seen all this from the house), he just sat on the ground and laughed so hard he cried.

After that, she'd just critique our tree climbing styles from the ground.

Ha! That will teach you to brag! OUCH!

but hey good for you! you did it and didn't disappoint your DD!

Hope you heal soon!

Isn't it a bit cruel that our bodies are aging but our minds aren't??? The last time I tried a cartwheel I landed on my feet, but my head was dizzy for about 30 minutes afterward! Sad!

Oh, sorry, I am so laughing right now. Not AT you, WITH you. :p

I spent all day Saturday showing my boys how to do various tricks off the diving board (trust me, a swan dive and a jacknife are not as easy as they were when I was 10!). I was in some severe pain the next couple of days. :p

The sacrifices we make for our kids. :p
