ok, i give up

On the topic of quotes, one thing I have never been able to figure out in over nine years I have been here is when a poster, making the first reply on a thread, quotes the original poster. :confused3 You don't see it too often, but I have seen it done here by some for years. It's not like there is any confusion as to whom is being replied to, LOL.

You make a very good point here, but I have to say that this response...

The OP can always edit the opening post. I've seen a few threads where the second post didn't seem to make sense based on the current version of the "first" post.
...makes all the sense in the world. How many times have we all read a post and gone "huh? what the heck are they referring too? :confused3 " I guess quoting even early on in a thread can make sense after all!

Click the little quote marks "+ (to the immediate right of the regular Quote button) on EACH post you want to quote in your reply.

On the last quote of the group, first click the little quote marks "+, AND then, click on the
regular Quote button.

All of the quotes you marked will pop up together in a single new Reply.

Just testing!

Clicking this icon
multiquote_off.gif
for multiple quotes will turn it red
multiquote_on.gif
. When all the multiples are selected, click the regular Reply icon

. For single quotes, just select the Quote icon

I've always wondered how to do this, but I still don't even understand how to do a single quote! :confused3 How about walking me thorough that one, too? Please?

that one is easy just click the quote button on the bottom right and then type your comment right after the QUOTE in caps.
