...does Pop Century have a consierge desk?

I am only asking since those on the Restaurant Board say that if you have trouble getting a particular ADR, to ask at your consierge desk.

I was just wondering... :rolleyes1

<snicker...snicker> ;)

They have a guest services desk. You could ask there, but they'd probably call Dining, so you might as well call Dining yourself.

Woo Beth . I'm not too far from you...I'm from Brackenridge, PA

Well HEY jeminni! :wave2: :)

And I could have expected as much from YOU oogieboogie! ;)
Thanks for the info though. That's what I thought. Just trying to get a DINNER ADR for LeCellier and it's pretty tough. But I will keep trying. It's really not a big deal though... :)

I'm pretty sure I saw a sign that said "concierge" at ASMo but it amounted to CMs with computer access to ADRs, I don't think it was like a special service, but just in place of calling WDW Dining.

If you are staying at a resort and paying for concierge level accommodations then It hink you might have a chance to snag a ressie. But just dealing with the CMs at Guest Services at a resort more than likely won't provide you with any better chance. You can continue to call Dining and probably have the same chance. Good Luck!

Yes, you can just hit the dining button on your phone or go talk to the guest services (aka concierge) desk at the hotel. We opted to do that since she had the computer right there and could jump between restaurants to see what was available and what times. Also, I know people on the dining line and know it takes away time from making $ for them so I just opted to use another source as to not be another person on the dining line. But that's a whole 'nother story ;)

Yep, that is what I was thinking myself, and I really did not expect such service at a value resort, but I thought that I would ask in case I just happened to be wrong. :)

Just got back from Pop a few days ago. They DO indeed have a desk in the main lobby that has concierge written on it. It's where we picked up our Hoop De Doo tickets.

Well COOL then! :cool1: Although I am not going to kid myself that they have the same level of service that you have in one of the Deluxe Resorts, I will at least TRY this avenue to see if we can the meal that we would like. :)

I believe they recently changed the name of "Guest Services" to "Concierge"

Yes, what use to be guest services is now concierge. When I stayed at the Allstar Music in July they had the concierge desk. You can buy park tickets there, they were helping with the ME questions etc and they will print your boarding pass. There was a couple in front of me making dining reservations, but I do not know that I would want to wait in line for that when you can easily call dining yourself. If there was no line I'd have them check for me.

I think that the new title is what causes some confusion. Guest services is now considered "lobby concierge" at all the resorts. BethR, you should expect the same level of lobby concierge customer service whether you're in a value, mod or deluxe. Those guests staying in concierge level at the deluxe resorts have their own staff of CM's to assist them, so that is a little bit different. All guests have access to lobby concierge.

That is good to know about the name change --- when we were there in March it was still guest services. Concierge does sound more upscale, I guess. I agree the "level" of service should be the same at all three "levels" of resorts...I just haven't had much luck with them getting a hard to get ressie. It seems when you pay to stay concierge that for some reason they tend to have more influence or "magic" in getting those hard to get ressies.
With guest services (oops concierge) at the resorts, in the past, it seems my odds of getting somethng I want when calling dining from my room are about the same since we both dial the same number. The upside of doing it in the room is that I don't have to wait in line to have them do it. I know at the moderates sometimes the line can be rather long, depending on the time of day, etc. I have not stayed at values so not sure about there.

The other option is simply to try to plan an early or late meal where you want to eat ... not at a popular time ...then drop in and see what the wait time is ... Keep in mind that often people do not show up for their ARs and that opens up a table. While I always try to call there have been times when we didn't make our reservations and didn't call. Much of this, though, depends on the time of year you are going, the size of crowds, etc.

Just wanted to add...

hope to see you there Beth, we're staying at POP too and going to MNSSHP on Sep 30 too!

Say hi if you see us:
