Would anyone be interested in having a Discon at Disneyland?

I dont know when I'll be able to make out to FL again soon but Ca is certainly possible for us.

I was thinking next fall but someone mentioned next summer before school starts.

What does everyone think? I would be glad to help organize as much as I could.

DH is a teacher and just cant get away to FL except during school holidays but we can easily do DL - A West Coast DISCON! How fun!!!!

I think it is a great idea for those people with kids and jobs that don't allow them to get away in early December.

There certainly are a wide choice of hotels to satisfy everyone's budget in the area.

All it really takes is somone like a MackeyMouse (No, Marsha, I am NOT volunteering you for this ) to look into convention type arrangements at the Disneyland Resort.

I could imagine doing a Fantasmic dessert event. There are many possibilities.

I would consider volunteering, but my schedule is too unpredictable to take on that responsibility.

But we local west coasters always try to arrange meets for visitors if they want to try to plan something......

Sounds good to me!! And I would help, except I don't think DL cast members would listen to a 16 year old trying to organize a convention...

If we get serious about this I will help. I have never been to a real Discon but I have been to DL a million times and lots of travel industry conventions and conferences. Let me know if there is something I can do!

So, they point would be to do it when the majority of kids are out of school ....but the least busy time in the summer. Sounds like it should start friday the first weekend in june then run till the next tuesday. Or the second Monday in june thru Thursday ?

If we kept most of the visiting/events to the busy hours of the afternoon, there would be lots of ride time in the am and late eve. So instead of breakfast events , lunch would be better.

most likely not this year since we are going in Jan, but next year would work for me . Also i am committed to teaching this summer, but not next.

2004 would work better for us too. This year our AP's are blocked during the summer, but next Oct when we renew them, I would be willing to upgrade to the premium AP so we could attend.

I don't think we'll ever get to attend a DISCON.

I just can't take my son out of school to go to Disney. The schools in the NE don't get out until the end of June.

I hope it works out for everyone else.

Schools in CA are in session until mid-June. So we could not attend unless it was after then.

What about around "Spring Break" time?

To be honest i am not sure i could make myself attend during either Spring break or after the first 2 weeks of June. My blood just sort of runs cold at the thought of the crowds, even though i know all of the tricks to make it doable.
