OK how bad are crowds during Spring Break (March)

My DH parents said that for Christmas next year they will take the family to WDW--YEAH-- OK , not during Christmas but either befor or after. We were thinking March 12 (07) or so (DD elementary school goes year round and this is the date of her cycle break), for a week - we went this past May and had a perfect trip weather and crowd wise. How much different is it in March - how bad are the Spring Break Crowds- it is families or college kids or a mix if it is too bad I guess we could pull DD out of school in JanuaryDH's dad is a farmer so the latest he can go is mid march. OH what to do for a free WDW trip!!

We went during spring break of 2004 and the crowds were terrible. The lines were very long, some rides had over an hour wait, fastpasses were gone for most rides by mid-morning.

I had never been to WDW during that week before - had only been there once prior and that was during the second week of December - and even though I knew it was going to be crowded I was not really expecting it to be that bad.

I would probably never go back during spring break.

We went for our spring break which is around March 4th and found it a lot less crowded than when we went in June and the weather was a lot cooler.
If you can go in the earlier part of March I think you would be fine.

I think that some weeks in march are the worst. We were there the week of 3/16 and it was more crowded than over christmas vacation.

But that said if you fastpass and ADRs and use EMH you can still have a great time.

Definitely crowded, but manageable. And (usually) the weather is wonderful, although a bit too cold for swimming for this Texas family anyway.

We do get to the parks at opening---that makes a huge difference. And we followed the UOG plans as well.

I don't know where you live, but the majority of the Spring Break crowd in March is from Canadians that come down for "March Break". I know because I am one of them and have visited for years.

The last time we attended during March Break was in 2004 and it was terrible, as the previous poster mentioned - huge lines, etc. Now we go the week before March Break and the week of MB. We do parks before and beaches/shopping during MB. This helps a lot.

March Break this year in Canada is from March 10-17, FYI.
