This is like re-making "the Wizard of Oz." Who thinks this could possibly turn out well?Eiko Kodano's series of books known as 'Kiki's Delivery Service' is set for a second animated feature adaptation, this time from none other than the Mouse House.
Acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki had previously turned the books to the screen in 1989, the first big hit for his company Studio Ghibli. Disney has tapped scribe Jeff Stockwell to re-adapt the story, apparently set for traditional animation.
The books and movies follow a 13-year-old apprentice witch Kiki, who takes a delivery job for the local bakery. Her unrefined powers, however, turn out to be more troublesome than helpful.
