OK, Heard from the COordinator, now its a lottery!

How long did it take for you to find out from your coordinator if you got your date or not? TODAY is our ONE YEAR MARK for our requested date, but I haven't heard from our coordinator yet. I'm just too impatient! I don't want to email her yet though, as I'm sure she will let me know when she knows... I'm just so excited to find out if we get our date or not!!!!!!!

YAY I just heard from my coordinator!!! Well, apparently we are going into a lottery because we've requested a weekend date. Anyone who requests a weekend date, whether someone else has requested the same as you or not, goes into a lottery. I wonder if we'll get our first choice!!!! I wonder if we'll go into a lottery by ourselves and automatically get our date if no one else has requested our date or how that works????? I wonder if this gives everyone who requested a weekend wedding a fair shot at getting one of the days/times during the weekend... Thinking about it, its a bit confusing to me! OH well, I just can't wait for monday to find out! Keep your fingers crossed!

That's awesome that you heard from your planner!!! I am getting married on a Saturday, and I was never put into a lottery. It could be something new that they are starting? though. I don't think alot of girls have had a hard time getting their date. You must be so excited!

Thanks I am really excited! Hmm, I asked her if someone else requested our date since we've been put in a lottery and that's just what she told me... Even if someone hasn't requested your date, because its a weekend we automatically go into a lottery... so it could be new. Or maybe b/c its going to be in May and that's during a busy time for weddings?... I dont know, but I am excited to get my date so I can officially start counting down!

Oh dear, TWO lotteries!? I dont know if I would be able to stand the anticipation... its torture!!!

Just wanted to say good luck to get your date, bit weird that you may only be in a lottery with yourself

Will the 29th not be a Friday next year? I take it by that, that a Friday is classed as the weekend ?

We got our date - the 27th so we may be getting married days apart from each other

Even if no one wants your date + time, there could be two other couples who want your date + venue and are vying with each other for a time slot. DFTW has to put everyone who wants that date + venue into a lottery b/c the couple who loses will then need to be slotted in at another date and/or time - potentially the one you want.
