When I was younger ( yes wayyyyy back then lol) my mom and I used to do a latch hook together. She bought me a latch hook "gun" you just threaded the gun, lined it up, and "shot". it tied the string around the pattern and that was that.


Does anyone have any idea what Im talking about here?

This would have been in the late 70's early 80's

I would love to do this with my girls. my mom and I had a lot of fun and it was one of the few things I could sit still for ( surprised arent you? ) it was good quality time for us.


Can anyone help me? Ive asked at all the craft stores and they look at me like I have 3 heads

Wal-Mart still sells latch hook kits in the Craft department. They have the little "thingy" that you put one piece of yarn in at a time - it is still fun anyway.

I call it a latch hook kit. They've got them in all the craft stores and in the craft section at Walmart.

The latch hook kits didnt have the gun in them that I could see.

I bid on that but now a friend wants one and there is only that we can find on ebay.

I have tried entering the name at Google and got no where.

That is funny we just bought a latch hook rug for my 11 yo to do. She is having a ball doing it. She has been doing it a week and has almost half of it done. However she is using the hookey thing that One Cat is talking about. LOL such great memories, I did these in the 70's too binny!!! Hope you get your umm hooker.
