OK, Fashionistas - Photos post 12 - Vote, please!

I am going to book a resort photo shoot at AKL. We did one last year at SSR.

I CAN NOT figure out what to wear.

Last year DH wore a blue plaid camp shirt, I wore a navy scoop neck T, and DS wore a light blue T. I don't particularly want to do blue again.

We are all VERY PALE. Blond, fair skinned, nearly transparent. I know the popular choice is for everyone to wear white, but that is not a good choice for us. I don't like red, we don't look good in heather gray.

I would like to wear kind of a rose pink, or a rose pink on white print. But if I wear that, what color can I put DH and DS in?

I also considered brown. I have a solid brown T, and DH has a brown plaid camp shirt. The problem is what DS would wear, because he absolutely can not wear tan.

Yes, this really is the biggest problem I have today.
The mall opens in 2 hours. Help, please!!!

I love it when people dress similarly in pictures. It makes you focus on the people, not the clothes...

I know you said you dont want white b/c you are so fair. However, it does look nice. Take a look at the family pictures I had taken on my Facebook page. We all wore white shirts and khakis... and I am transparent!

P.S I dont know if brown would be a good choice. Its kinda dark at AKL... You might look like a floating head...

I saw ONE family that had photos at AKL and they were posed in front of a large rust colored rock. AKL pics are kind of scarce, so I don't know if they always use that rock as a back drop.

I can try to convince DH and DS to wear white, but DS has to wear a white or black polo to school every day and he REALLY doesn't look good in either one.

That color isn't in stores right now. I can find tan and olive for myself, but not like a hunter green.

DS has a lime polo that I think would be great, but DH says he won't wear lime. And if they wore lime I am not sure I could get away with rose.

It's all very complicated!

How about a light blue colour.

My mum and brother are both pale skin blondes and look great in "baby blue". its also a colour boys dont often think looks bad (its blue!!) and yet will stand out against the background really well.

most important thing to wear - SMILES!!!

since your skin picks up the reflective tones.
And for the hubby how about tan or a coffee color.
A great comp color for pink.
Coral is good to for pale.

I am thinking I might put DH and DS in matching blue polos (almost a periwinkle - I am not sure how to describe it). Then I will go with the pink. Maybe.

Coffee would probably be good for the boys. The problem is, I haven't seen any shirts in that color for them!

DS looks HORRID in tan/beige. I bought him a T-shirt in kind of a tan last year and the second he pulled it over his head I knew the color was WAY wrong for him. It was so bad I took the shirt back to the store.

I know I can wear coffee/chocolate just fine, but I am not sure what color DS could wear if I wore brown.

I'm going to the mall. I will report back here this afternoon!

5 or so of the resorts (Poly, GF, WL, AKL, SSR, maybe YC/BC) have PhotoPass photographers that you can book a photo session with. You call 30 days ahead and book a time slot. Then you go to the desk at the resort, the photographer walks around with you and takes pics, you choose your favorites to be made into prints.

The pricing is kind of wonky. If you prepaid for a CD then the package is $70. If you did NOT pre-purchase the CD then the package is $100. There is a DVC "discount" that is like $80, which is more than it would be if you pre-purchased. That made me laugh, but the guy on the phone didn't seem to see the humor in it. You get a CD of all the resort photos and a few prints for that price. If you bought the regular PhotoPass CD they will give you a code so you can add your resort photos to your other PhotoPass pics when you get home. Or something like that.

We did this at SSR last year and we only got maybe 30 pics. Other people have said they got A LOT more shots. Also, ALL of our pics were outside. I know most of the time they do some indoors and some outdoors. DH won a voucher for a free session at the DVC Welcome Home thing, so for free I can't fuss too much. This year we are doing the session at AKL.

I managed to find shirts that I *think* will work. Pink floral for me, berry for DH, pale pink for DS. I found a green floral and a solid green for DH, but I wasn't able to work out a shirt for DS to go with those. I brought the whole mess home and will do returns tomorrow.

Personally, I think the green group looks great. AND it'll go nicely witht the earthiness of the colors at AKL

Well, I have to vote green...but, I'm not sure it's a truly meaningful vote since I can't think of any circumstances in which I'd vote for something pink.

I have to say the pinks came out kind of funny in the photo.
DH's "berry" shirt is the EXACT same color as the darker color in my shirt, and DS's shirt is NOT as "pink" as it looks - it is very light. I guess the question is whether or not they would photograph like that at WDW, because if they would, maybe green is a much better choice!

I can't decide which group I like better.
