Our family of 5 is unable to book our beloved POR for a last-minute trip in December. I am able however, to get 2 rooms at the All Star Sports.......OR......a Kidsuite at HIFS.....OR......one room at Hotel Royal Plaza. Which would you choose?? Can you give me opinions on HRP? I like the fact it is a DD hotel......

Thanks for any info you can give me!!

Sammy

PS. I've never stayed at any of these before!

If I did not have a rental car, I would stay at All-Star Sports. If I had a rental car, I would stay where I got the most bang for my buck. Only you know how much the 3 different places are costing you. If you party needs to break-up during the day due to naps, etc., I would also consider ASSp. If the Royal Plaza is a single room, I would eliminate it from consideration. We like to stay at the DVC resorts when we have the points but have no problem staying off-site at some of the better properties---We have had good luck at VV and VR. Many folks on the boards love HIFS.

The Royal Plaza suites sleep 5 comfortably. Very spacious
Kids under 13 eat free.
the amenities are great and the service is one of a kind.
I reccommend this property all the time.
Been there 8 times in the last 8 yrs - never dissapointed.
Good Luck and have fun!!

HIFS is a fun change of pace. My younger son played video games in the kids room while my older son watched TV in the livingroom. Dh & I had our own TV in our room. I also liked having a free breakfast buffet onsite. The grounds seemed large & they really seemed to cater to families. We had 2 kids & 2 adults. If there were anymore adults going, I'd rather book separate rooms at All Stars. The pullout couch at HIFS is a tight fit in the livingroom. It worked great for us, but it would have been a pain if another adult were on the trip with us.

Is the HIFS the same hotel but sometimes referred to as the Holiday INN Main Gate East??? Just curios. I just booked the Holiday Inn but they called it the Main Gate east. Thanks in advance.

Dann, do you feel pretty secure with this place? I only ask as they only have 1 feedback right now and I hate giving my money upfront like that.

I have emailed them but there are only 10 hours left on the auction so dont know if I will hear in time.

It just seems awfully cheap.
thanks!
Diane

Hi Dianne,

I did take that into account. They are a "square trader", so I'm covered for up to $500. Plus, I'm paying with a credit card thru ebay payments. Worst case is it takes a few days to recoup my money. Best case I get a great vacation!

I think the worst effect of their being new sellers is that they wrote up the auction so poorly. If I had managed it, I would have started it at $199 at least. Too many people just ignored it.

I expect to see them repost it shortly. The 28 weeks they have left are still there.

Good luck. I'll try to post about my experience if I remember.
