Does anyone have any good remedies or shampoo recommendations for someone with very oily hair? No matter what I do my hair remains greasy. :confused3 I have tried the lemon and water in a hot towel and changing shampoo multiple times. I also am a swimmer so could that be part of the problem?

Thanks!

Are you using a too much of a shampoo specially formulated for swimmers?
My DD & DS use both UltraSwim shampoo & conditioner.
They also use Swimmers Solution moisturizing shampoo.

I've used these products (when they are the only ones in the shower stall) & they leave my hair feeling greasy.

They seem to work well for my kids' heads, but to a non-swimmer, they leave a greasy residue.

DD has a big oily hair problem and she recently discovered Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo - she says it keeps the oil away pretty good.:)

I have found that certain conditioners do that to me more than the shampoo. Pantene is about *the* worst for me right now. A lot of conditioners out there are just nasty/greasy IMO.

I have oily hair as well, so I have gone through a whole slew of trials for the right one that will clean and condition my hair w/o it getting too bad. I currently use a salon formulat that works better than anything else.

I still have oily hair. I have found Neutrogena clarifying shampoo to work well and also if you need heavy duty cleaning, try T-Gel. It is strong and works well for dandruff. I used it for a long time as it was the only shampoo that didn't cause me to break out. I have sensitivities to lots of products.

I have also had good results with regular V O-5.

Thank you. I will try these out.

For swimming I don't actually use any chlorine removing products, just regular shampoo.

I have very oily hair and skin. I shampoo daily with Biolage Normalizing Shampoo and only condition about once a week with the Biolage Detangler.

Having my hair chemically treated helps also. I have a tri color weave and one of the colors is bleach which really helps to dry it out and give it some body.

Have you tried a vinegar rinse? Mix about 1/2 warm water and 1/2 vinegar and run it through your hair and then rinse it out. It can really cut the grease.

I used Clairol's Herbal Essences for about 20 years, until they recently changed the scents (got headaches.) Shopping around, but like the Aussie one and the Paul Mitchell one.

Coloring helps a LOT! Still not one of those people who don't wash daily, but I don't have to re-wash to go out at night. :)

Good luck! :)

Pantene makes a nice clarifying shampoo. I shampoo once with that and then once with a volumnizing shampoo and my hair looks great. Watch the conditioners you use.
