SW recently cut all their nonstops out of CLE and CAK but there are a few nonstops from CMH. We are 1 hr from CAK and 2.5 hrs from CMH. Not sure what to do and I need some opinions. We have flown from CMH in the past.

Option 1: Non-stop out of CMH. With drive time to the airport, travel time is about 6 hours. Less points but that drive home from CMH is always so long.

Option 2: No plane change from CAK stopping in ATL, travel time is about 5 hours. Better flight times, more points.

WWYD???

I leave between Cincinnati and Dayton so I have to compare about 6 airports that are all in a 2 hour drive time when I look at flights. Below are the concerns I would compare to decided the best option:

1. Cost (Sometimes I can fly out of one airport for half than a different one)
2. Flight times (do they depart and arrive to fit my schedule)
3. Ease of drive/parking at airport
4. Total travel time from home to the final airport
5. Which airport is easier to navigate

Based on my above points, I would probably pick Option 2 if the cost/points was not too far apart.

We are almost in the same boat as you are. Dayton had a non stop from southwest but they cancelled that. So they only nonstop options we have if Columbus. It's a 2 hour drive. Dayton is 1.5 hours. Detroit 2 hours. Personally I choose non stops no matter what the cost. I have been stranded too many times to trust any airline
