We moved 10 years ago but decided to cut through on our way back to visit family last year. I was shocked at the commercialization, it basically is Ohio's version of Gatlinburg now. I joked as we drove out Ohio 39 all that was missing was the dinner shows, but a mile or so outside of Berlin we found that too.
Some Amish staples remain.
As stated above, Boyd and Wurthman in Berlin is a great homemade food stop, my parents eat there often.
Cheese shops-I like the Guggisburg shop between Berlin and Millersburg. The baby swiss is the best I've ever had, the prices are fantastic. They have some types of cheese for $1.99 a pound this month.
We liked the Amish bakery in Berlin right where 39/62 meet,G but their prices were outrageous. We'll need to find a new bakery.
My opinion would be to get a good map, and travel the back roads-that's true Amish country. OH39/US62 have become tourist traps.
