Ohhhh how to choose & convince DH!

Would you do an FE if you go Disney? Not sure that's unique to Disney, but if it is, and you want to do it, then it's a pro. How about using Disney gift card deals to pay for part of it... that's a pro.

Mostly, though, are both itineraries the same or does one or the other have something that interests you more?

Most likely would not do an FE. I do have a Disney Visa, but can continue to save my points towards our return trip to WDW in 2018.

We have never been to any of the ports on either itinerary.

There are easy ways to convince the husband. Just go back to the DCL commercials about the Little Souvenir. That may get you a veranda as well. Being able to send our daughter off to a kids club for a few hours so we can get away a little on vacation is a good thing too. No little souvenir for us though.

That would not work, lol, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary next Wednesday and have a 5yr old, our only!

Honestly, DH and I cruised without our two younger kids (yes my two older ones are old enough to have their own LOL) just to see what cruising was like and I picked disney because I knew my dd4 was a princess kind of kid. Now I'm hooked and well.. we booked a 7 night for the very beginning of September to take both younger kids and I want to book another while on board because I know they will love it (hoping as my other young one is 16).

IMO everyone should experience a Disney cruise at least once. You will be hooked. I met a couple who were on their 37th Disney cruise (older couple mind you) and they have cruise all other lines too (I was impressed and had my mouth hanging open when they told us that) and my DH (who could not see why I would pay ~$6k for a week cruise for 4 of us and was miffed at me at the time) asked why they kept coming back to DCL. They both said "because Disney does it right". My DH is now a believer and cannot wait to cruise DCL again. We may not go every year because of the price but we will cruise Disney again.

Well my arguments while worthy were not convincing enough to spend the extra $1300 and DH not get to have a balcony SO the plan for now is to book RCL Oasis for October 2017. My best friend and I are going to do a DCL cruise/park stay in October 2018 (without the MEN).

Thanks for all the feedback.

After all the talk the past few days about costs I went into RCCL website last night to look at my October 2017 cruises and the prices had dropped, something DCL never does I might add. I got $90 off each of our sailings so a very nice bonus.
If you do book the Oasis keep your eye on the price, check it every once in a while. They do drop prices occasionally but it only lasts a few days.
Maybe we will see you on board. :)
