Ohhhh boy~ here we go again! Anderson/VanDamme Vegas/California road trip vacation!

I'm joining your trip report.

Your daughter is adorable. I'm only on page one right now but hopefully I'll catch up soon! :)

ONLY 56 MORE Days to go!!!! :banana:

Okay, so now it's time to start some more serious planning!!! YAY!! :cool1: I LOVE this part, it keeps me busy and I don't have to think about my stupid diet when I'm busy. :surfweb:

List of things I need to do before our trip

1. Find Dog Sitter
* Usual dog sitter will be in florida at the time. :mad:

2. Get a tune-up on van

3. Come up with the rest of the money for trip.
* Waiting for our stupid insurance refund check, was supposed to be here on thursday. :mad:

4. Loose at least another 20lbs
* Down a total of 33 so far! YAY ME!! :woohoo:

5. ((if #4 is accomplised)) Get a pedicure/manicure/hair cut as a reward

6. Buy some new clothes! Because HECK! I'm going to be over 50lbs lighter. :cheer2:

7. Buy the kids some Disney stuff. ((toys, books, etc. etc.)) as a "gift" from Mickey when we arrive to the hotel. :mickeyjum

8. Buy some Disney Clothing for Me, DH, and DD

9. Load up the Ipod with new songs and Last 2 Harry Potter Books.

I'm sure there is a bunch more, but that's all I can think of right now. :rolleyes:

Ohh...a list! I love making lists. There's something oddly satisfying when I'm able to cross things off of a list...haha.

Congrats on the weight loss. I wish I could motivate myself to lose some weight.

I love the idea of gifts from mickey. Very cute!

Thank you. :goodvibes Judging by your photos you don't look like you need to loose any weight my dear.

Speaking of my list....... I am sooooo happy as of an hour ago I got to scratch the first item off. I GOT A DOG SITTER!!! YAY!!!! :banana: That's the hardest part of going on vacation. Finding someone to watch my rugrats.

Day 2 ~ September 22nd

Another LONG drive today, but nothing compared to the previous day.

We have a 384 mile/6 hour drive

6:30 am - Wake
7:30 am - Wake up DD
8:00 am - Leave room to have breakfast

We will be eating our yummy free breakfast at the hotel before we hit the road.

I have to admit for a free breakfast they sure do offer a nice spread ~ :banana:

* Waffles
* Pancakes
* Eggs
* Biscuts and gravy
* Sausage
* Bagles
* Juice
* Donuts
* And much more!!

Mmmmmmmmmm ....... Like I said my diet goes right out the window when I'm on vacation.

Right after breakfast we will be on our merry way!! Disney Land here we come !!!! :yay:

After our long 6 hour drive we will hopefully arrive at our hotel around 4:30 pm, if not a little earlier. I am a little fearful that there will be a lot of rush-hour traffic at this time. :eek: ((Crossing my fingers it won't be that bad)) :rolleyes:

We are staying at the Anabella Hotel ((I'll post pictures later)) which is situated directly across the street from California Adventure. However all the literature I've been reading states that it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the main gate. Has anyone stayed here before? If so I would LOVE some more information on it. Anythng you could offer would be helpful. :flower3:

I booked a Concierge room. It's supposed to be an upgraded room with the following amenities:

* Newly renovated
* Exclusive check in and check out desk
* CD clock radio
* Full granite bathrooms
* Bathbobes and slippers
* Luxury Bedding ((VERY IMPORTANT))
* Complimentary continental breakfast
* Concierge service
* Complimentary business center usage
* Extended fitness center hours
* private patios
* Exclusive club anabella buildings

The room we are staying in has a King Sized bed for my husband and I, and a double bed for my DD. This is important because the last time we stayed at a hotel we all shared a King and my husband ended up getting kicked off by DD. :lmao: Poor thing ended up sleeping in a chair.

Be back with some more Septebmer 22nd plans and pictures .... :wave2:

I got married in California in 2006 (where I lived at the time.) My family (parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins) all stayed at the Anabella. I stayed there the night before the wedding too. It was nice.

We actually walked down the street and crossed over to the Disney parking lot (Timon lot?) and hopped on the tram that took us to the entrance.

Here's a photo....

I have a few questions for you DL pros before I can continue on with my Day 2 plans. :confused3

1. Has anyone eaten at Tortilla Jos before, if so how is the food?

2. Are there any GREAT restaurants NOT on Disney Property that you would recommend? I don't want anything to far, would like to stay in the area. Any good take-out restaurants would be a huge plus.

3. Has anyone eaten at a restaurant called "TIFFY'S"? It's right next to our hotel and I was wondering if it's worth going to.

4. Has anyone done the CLUB LIBBY LU thing? And if so, is it something a 4 year old would enjoy?

5. Anything you would recommend that I need to see or do when I'm at DTD?

Also..... I'm going to be making gift baskets or bags filled with Disney items for the kids. I'll leave those in the rooms at night :smickey: (( From Mickey and Tinker bell of course)) :tinker: before they retire the first night. Does anybody have any cute or unique ideas for me on how to go about this?
:idea:

So far some of the items I'm planning on incuding are:

1. Disney Dollars
2. Disney Snacks
3. Disney beach balls for playing in the pool
4. Disney coloring books and crayons
5. Disney beanies
6. Sand pail and shovel for when we go to the beach
7. Autograph books

I'll probably change it up a little for each kid.

I've already been told to check out my local Dollar Tree store. ((never shopped there before)) So I'll definitely do that soon.

Thanks so much for your help.

We ate at Tiffy's a couple times back in 2006. We liked it. But maybe it's different now....I don't know. I also walked there and got some hot tea the morning of my wedding before I got my hair done (at the salon located in the Anabella.)

*Sorry I'm responding in a bunch of seperate posts.

I am unable to view the pics of the goodies you got from the Dollar store and Target. RideMax wound up being a waste of $ for us last year, simply because I FORGOT the print-outs at home! How stupid of me!! The park wasn't too crowded, except for a couple days when it was swarming w/ people anyway. I decided against it this year just because we'll be there during a non-busy time.

The hotel breakfast sounds delicious!! I LOVe breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day.

:lmao: You guys crack me up!!

Well my Dad is claustrophobic, and my DD seems to get really annoyed when her "personal" space is invaded so maybe the two of them should skip out on the ride. However, I think the rest of us will try to make a go of it. ((providing the line isn't to long)) I'll let you know how it all pans out. ;) You two have been very helpful and it's nice to have both points of view.:hug:

Did you go on the Nemo ride at Epcot? I think the effects and stuff are really similar to the ride at Disneyland. Obviously it's a bit different since you're in a submarine, but it's the same basic stuff.

though I am a ride max fan (used it the last two trips) I have my doubts about those FL time estimates... they seem like pretty short wait times for that late in the morning? Anybody else think so?

I was thinking that too. I've never used ridemax so I don't really get it.

Day 4 to be continued ..................

We ate at Coco's. But only for lunch so I can't comment on breakfast. We did enjoy the lunch though.

Thank you. :goodvibes Judging by your photos you don't look like you need to loose any weight my dear.

I am fairly thin...but really out of shape. And I've gained about 20 pounds or so in the last couple years. I'm just not comfortable at this weight. But I just can't get motivated to do anything about it.

Was that faster then walking down S. Disneyland Drive and going through DTD? :confused3

Sorry about that. Should be fixed now so you can view them.

Oh gosh...the sky buckets at the san diego zoo were terrifying! I did it once and I'll never do it again...haha.

Oh I know!! I was holding on for dear life. :scared1:

Did you go on the Nemo ride at Epcot? I think the effects and stuff are really similar to the ride at Disneyland. Obviously it's a bit different since you're in a submarine, but it's the same basic stuff.
Yes I did! My DD LOVED that ride, so maybe she'll like the one at DL. I'm a little worried though because she doesn't like really small spaces or loud noises. I'm hoping that she does much beter with the rides this year then she did last. Poor thing was terrified of almost everything except the Haunted Mansion ((go figure)) :lmao: And Buzz lightyear.

We ate at Coco's. But only for lunch so I can't comment on breakfast. We did enjoy the lunch though.
Were there any other restaurants within CLOSE walking distance that you would recommend? I love sub sadwiches to bring back to the room. Is there a subway or quiznos within walking distance do you know?

We walked to DTD one night from the Anabella and I recall the walking taking quite a while. However, going the way I showed on the map could take a while if you end up having to wait for a tram. We had my 15 month old niece with us (and no stroller) at the time so it was just easier to walk a short distance and wait for a tram. I think you can also walk all the way instead of catching the tram but we never did that.

The only places we walked to were Tiffy's, Coco's, and Denny's (which was a bit farther west on Katella.) So I'm not really sure about any other places. I searched google maps and it says there is a Subway at 1770 S Harbor Blvd # 136, Anaheim. You can map it and see. It would probably be a bit far to walk but the drive would be fairly easy (unless there's something going on at the convention center. An event there can really make traffic horrible around the Anabella.)

MommaU4 has got me thinking about Halloween now, so I got online and started checking out some Halloween Costumes for Reya. I’m absolutely in Love with TOM ARMA’S costumes. They’re a bit on the expensive side but so adorable. The ones I really Like are listed below. ((Tell me what you think))

p.s. I really LOVE the Bunny costume but don’t think is very practical. It’s my favorite one, but the feet would get so filthy. L

YAY! I'm getting everyone in a Halloween mood! :rotfl: I love it. ;)

Those costumes are so cute. I really like the bunny one too but your right, it would get dirty so fast. :rolleyes:

Maybe you could find a similiar bunny suit without feet? :confused3
Does she have a favorite animal or character?

Target has some costumes on their website that are pretty cute and not too terribly expensive:
Click here for Target's Halloween costumes

Her other costumes were just adorable, especially the little ladybug one. :goodvibes She's going to be so thrilled with Halloween this year. I remember all my kids first years of trick or treating. The look on their faces when they see they can get a bunch of candy is just so funny.

Unfortunately I had to make some minor adjustments for Day 4.… Here’s the new itinerary ~~~

8:15 am: Have breakfast at Coco’s

9:15 Am: Start walking to the park
