Hi everybody, DW, DD and myself have a May trip planned. We're going to be leaving very early on a Sunday morning. Yesterday's Tribune had an article detailing how parking, even in the remote lots, can be difficult sometimes. I was wondering if some folks could relate their experiences using some of the off-site parking areas, how well or not their shuttles worked out, etc.

Thanks
Mikey B.

I saw the same article. I have never had a problem finding a parking space at the ecomony lots at OHare. Our flights are always early and we usually get a space near the people movers. I think the longest we had to wait for the people mover was 5 min. So parking and getting on the people mover to terminal one took all of 10-15 min.

I didn't see the article, but I have never had a problem parking in the remote lots. I won't say that I didn't want a better parking spot, but I have never had a problem getting a space. And never waited for the tram for more than a few minutes. I only use the remote parking when I'm on company business so it would always be in the afternoon. If it were a bit cheaper I would use it for vacation also but I can usually get cheaper transportation when going out of town for more than a couple of days.

I never previously had a problem but last week we flew out on Thus afternoon and were stuck in Lot G. Had to take a shutlle acroos the street, then a train to the airport. If you are going to be gone for several days I would suggest checking the cost of a limo vs. parking. When we go for a week it is usually better to take a limo-about the same price and soooo much easier(especially with kids!)

I agree with the limo idea. We have 2 little ones and it is so much easier, I love curbside check-in. The difference in price also isn't that much for us which makes the decision between remote parking/limo easier.
