O'Hana's.....?

.....we will certainly put 'OHana's on our MUST EAT list for our December trip. As I look at my counter, I see I have just squeezed under the 200 day mark. Thanks, Again!!:wave2:

We love Ohana's so much that we are going to eat there twice on our upcoming trip! :earseek:

I would have to say that O'hana is my fav rest. in WDW

'Ohana is definitely a favorite of ours. On our last trip, with the family, everyone loved it! My favorite thing ever is the Coconut Snowball dessert, even though I'm usually too stuffed to eat all of it! :D

Definitely a good choice, and enjoy yourself on your trip!

Ok ... I will be the lone vote against Ohana. We have been twice and found the food dry and tasteless both times. We did enjoy the wontons, but the rest was not good. The turkey was the driest I have ever had and the shrimp very tough.

After giving it a 2nd try and finding it the same, we have marked it off our list.

Give us Jiko, Boma, Calif Grille, Spoodle's, Yachtmans Steakhouse or Le Cellier anyday!:sunny:

I'll join CoolDisneyCat in a big "no" vote for O'hana. We found the food quality to be pretty weak. The meat was so dry and tough that it was almost inedible. It makes sense though if you watch how they're preparing the food. Huge skewers of meat are prepared on the grill and they're piled up waiting for the servers to pick them up. So, they sit and get tough and dry. Overall, I'm not a fan of the Disney buffets. I don't think that Cape May is very good either, but it gets raves here all the time. If you're looking to eat at the Poly, the food at Kona is far superior. O'hana is a great time for kids though, and so if you're looking for entertainment for the little ones, it's fun. But don't go for the food....

Well you have to take the shell off first.. j/k :D

I at at 'Ohana for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed it, the food was really good, especially the pineapple w/caramel dipping sauce!! We wanted to order the coconut snowball dessert, but were just too stuffed. We had cousin Stephanie and there was a man playing Disney songs on the ukelele who was really good. I'm planning to eat there on my next trip, too. -Stephanie

Funny Ilovestitch; the ONLY thing I DON'T like at 'Ohana is the pineapple and caramel. My pineapple was sour and my sauce too watery. Oh, well, maybe it was a bad night.

Just want to say, that if you find your meat too dry or overcooked, you should ask for meat from a different skewer. I'm curious if those who didn't like the food went late at night when maybe stuff had been sitting? DVCGirl and CoolDisneyCat, was it late?

We LOVE the food and atmosphere at 'Ohana and can't wait to go back in August...though I may order a dessert from Kona Cafe ;) .

I don't remember the ukelele lady. Must have been the Lapu Lapu ;) .

I went to Ohana last week. The food was good, the service was good and the drinks were great! I would definitely go again.

We were at Ohana in November and it was a tossup, along with Boma, as to which we LOVED the best! :Pinkbounc

Of all the places at which we've eaten, OHANA certainly ranks in the top! It's fabulous...

My husband calls the day after Ohana the day of the "meat hangover"...ha. :teeth:

My family would not consider a WDW vacation without 'Ohana. In fact, when I asked my mother if she'd like to go to WDW for her birthday, the first words out of her mouth were, "As long as we eat at that Hawaiian place." We have always had excellent food and service. Although our meat has always been cooked to perfection, I wouldn't hesitate to ask for a new serving if it were otherwise - and I'm sure that the server would be completely gracious about bringing a new skewer over. Ahhh, in 26 days (and 30 minutes) we'll be checking in for our PS there. I can taste it already - many thanks to the OP for reminding me! :bounce:

ok .. quick question about ohana -

i have noticed that some places say they offer hawaiian chicken as one of the options.
on allears she says only turkey ...
so .... can anyone clear this up for me --

do they always have the chicken on the menu?

thanks!!

...is it chicken or turkey. Makes a big difference to non-turkey eaters, especially kids!:wave2:

My DH and DS (15) loved it, filling themselves with the steak and shrimp, it was very good. The pork was dry & no one wanted it, but the turkey was delicious. So moist it was more like chicken. They were perfectly content to be carnivores.

I was not WOWed by the food like I was at BOMA. My DD (10) did not seem to be either (she'll try anything) and wasn't at all interested in the games.

We got seated early, the service was incredible and the view was wonderful, but I just like more variety for that price. I guess that is the difference with buffet and sit-down.

Will be an even vote if we go back.....think we will just try another dinner at another hotel....part of the fun is eating at all the resorts.

I believe it is turkey, not chicken. I was there on the 23rd, and it was turkey.

Hey HopperFan!

I have got to try Boma!

I haven't been there in over a year, but last time I was there, it was turkey. They had a banana leaf-wrapped chicken item 4 or 5 years ago that was really good, but is no longer offered so far as I am aware.

i would go to ohana's again, It was excellent and not just the food but every aspect of it. The atmosphere is amazing. It was the favorit part of my trip!:worship:
