My family are thinking about eating at 'Ohana's one night during our WDW stay. I was wondering what it is like? We have triplet daughters who are 7, are they kid friendly there? We will be staying at the Contemporary with no car so we thought 'Ohana's would easy to get to. Those of you that have eaten there, what did you think? Thanks.

TIA,MISTY

Ohanas is wonderful. Very relaxing and kid friendly at the same time. It is all you can eat. They bring skewers of shrimp, steak, pork and chicken right to your table. They have a coconut race for the kids and a hula hoop contest.

It is high on our list to return on our next trip.

I think you will all enjoy 'Ohana. We stayed at Poly last fall and took Monorail to Contemporary for California Grille, so you will have no trouble with transportation.

The meal is fixed price and all inclusive (alcohol and special desserts are extra--we didn't need either). They start you off with a lazy susan for the table filled with seafood wontons, salad, rice, vegetables and wings, plus dipping sauces--all you can eat. Then they bring huge skewers of grilled turkey, pork, beef and shrimp and serve as much as you want. Dessert is pineapple with warm caramel dipping sauce.

This is a great restaurant for anyone, but especially kids who enjoy the games. Views are of the water and MK. Make sure to stroll around the grounds before or after dinner--just beautiful with the torches lit.

Since you are so close, you might want to try the Poly's Kona Cafe for breakfast. Excellent coffee.

Aloha, and have a wonderful time!

You will LOVE your meal at O'hana's. Ask at the front desk if possible that you would like to be seated near the window with a view of the MK. Our two DD's (6 & 7) loved it! What we thought was interesting the oldest one eat's everything and she was fairly picky at O'hana's and ate mostly what was on the appetizer tray. The waiter never balked at bringing us more chicken! And the younger one who eats NOTHING but chicken and peanut butter turned into a total carnivore. She loved the steak and the turkey. We had to check her to make sure she was our child.

We all really enjoyed the setting and didn't feel rushed one bit. The waiters were superb! This is definitely a place we will be eating at on a return visit to the World. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did ours!

We have 2 boys, ages 4 and 8, and Ohanas is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. The food is good, the service and entertainment even better. Get your girls a hula hoop before your trip and let them practice a bit - the hula hoop contest is a hoot! :)

Don't forget that if you're girls aren't adventurous eaters that they can order kids meals from the Kona Cafe next door through your server. Ren

'Ohana (NOT O'hana's - sounds more like an Irish pub) is great for kids. There's entertainment for them as well as dinner - hula hoop, coconut rolling, strolling ukulele player who also tells jokes. If kids are really picky they'll let them order stuff, probably chicken fingers or macaroni and cheese. The kids will probably like the stuff on the appetizer tray or the pineapple for dessert even if they don't like the meat. Most kids I've seen there like the grilled turkey (I do too) and they'll bring you more of whatever you decide you like.

You'll have excellent monorail transportation from the Contemporary, too. Add a little time just in case the monorail is slow. If you're there early you can check out the Polynesian, it's beautiful.

We ate at 'Ohana on March 5th and it was our favorite meal of the trip. We also stayed at the Contemporary and it was a quick monorail ride away. We have two sons, 5 and 20 months, and our 5 year old really liked the hula hoop contest and the coconut races. My kids were a bit fussy and picky about the food that night, and we asked if they could have a hot dog and fries and within 5 minutes it was delivered. The atmosphere is very casual, very family friendly, delicious food---and lots of it. I think you will enjoy it! :jester:

We will travel in July to WDW and DD wants to celebrate her 16th birthday at 'Ohana.........so I think that says a lot! I told her we could eat anywhere she wanted that evening!
