I need some advice from our O'hanas veterans. We have a 16 person party ADR'd at Ohana's for the dinner feast. Included in that party are a two and half year old boy and twin one year old girls. One of the parents mentioned a concern that the 'show' was very loud and that their little one would be miserable. Does anyone have a take on this either way? We really want to do O'hana's but perhaps its not the right place for the big group to meet. Thoughts, comments, advice? Thanks.

there really isn't any "show" there is a man that sings some little catchy songs here an there. There is a coconut race for kids of any ages every 30-60min (the 2yr old would do this, mine did at 2 and ate her first gummy worm) and then at a separate time there is are hula hoops out for the kids. I don't think it is loud that it would upset kids. I think the opposite - it would entertain kids, even 1yr olds. Lots of kids, the big firepit area for cooking, little umbrellas from the drinks to play with. It is a GREAT place for a large group - you will love it!!

It's not a show. There was a lady that sang some Hawaiian songs on a yukeleile (can't spell that) and then they invited people to come and do coconut races and a hula hoop contest. That's it. It wasn't loud, like Planet Hollywood is, and we carried on our adult conversations through the entire thing without a problem.

Plus there are times in which nothing is going on - you know?

Our kids loved the coconut race when they were smaller. Maybe it was the candy afterwards but they still had fun. We wouldn't have any problem taking younger kids there.

At -> 'Ohana <- there is nothing that would really scare or bother small children. If they are extremely sensitive to singing, you could request a table behind the grill.

I hope you don't have the luau and Ohana's confused. Honestly, there is nothing at Ohana's that could bother a small child, however, the luau is another story

Have fun!

I had the same thought as AMcaptured - you might have confused 'Ohana, which is a restaurant in the Polynesian, with the Spirit of Aloha Luau, which is a dinner show held at an outdoor pavilion at the polynesian.

'Ohana only has the aforementioned singer, coconut races, and hula hoop contests. Not very loud, but lots of fun for the littles. In fact, 'Ohana is a nice, quiet restaurant; your group of 16 would probably be the loudest thing there.

The Spirit of Aloha is a full-on show of Polynesian dancing, singing, and other entertainment, performed on a stage while the Guests sit at long tables and have a luau-stye dinner. This a little louder, and has a few small fire effects and some noises that might scare very little kids if they are up close.

There's nothing that's loud that would upset small children. My oldest has some sensory issues and he's not even remotely bothered by anything here. It's a fantastic restaurant for a large group and they have some fun things for the kids to do. You'll enjoy 'Ohana!
