We have eaten at Ohana every trip for the past 10 years...we had the grilled shrimp from years ago, the sweet & sour shrimp, and now the grilled shrimp of today (latest trip Sept 4th). I am a person who enjoys spicy food and I do not notice the spice too much while eating the few shrimp....however, after a few I think the spices start to "hit" you. I never eat any sauce on mine, just peel and eat, and still feel this way. I am not sure if they would be able to grill some without the marinade or not...my guess is that they marinade them for at least 30 minutes prior to grilling, but not positive. It never hurts to ask...plus, there are several other meats available that are not spicy (turkey, steak, pork). If you find that your grandson is not willing to try the meal you can always ask them for alternate child's choices (I think they have mac & cheese, etc. if you ask). Do not miss out on this fabulous meal because you are afraid your grandson will not eat...again, there are a lot of choices....HAVE FUN AND EAT MUCH!
