I would love to try 'Ohana's with my DS next November BUT it sounds like they bring the appetizers and meats almost simultaneously.

Yes or no? Have you ever successfully slowed down the pace to actually enjoy one before the other?

Never having been, I'm not sure how it all works! :goodvibes

Thanks,

We were there just last week, and the appetizers came first of couse, but it was a few minutes before the meat started arriving. Also all four types didnt come at once, we got turkey and beef first.. then later came the shrimp and pork. It didnt feel rushed at all. In fact it was our favorite meal of the trip.. The beef was the best!!!

Have a great trip!!!

They didn't with us... they brought sides first and then 10 minutes later or so, they brought the skewers around. You can make it last as long as you want, really, you can just keep asking for meats or whatever until you're ready to go.

I guess you could call them appetizers but we treated them like sides, you know? I ate them alongside the meats, just like I would at home. I mean, I had time to eat some before the meat but they stay on the table, too, so we ate them together. The bread comes from the hostess as you're being seated, so you can munch on that while waiting on the rest.

Since this is our favorite place to eat, we have had all sorts of service. There are times when it seems that everything is brought out quickly and then there are times when it seems to take forever. When we feel it is coming out too quick, we just ask the server to wait a little so we can get through whatever we currently have. They have no problem with this and will come back later with the next round. So it doesn't have to be rushed if you don't want it to be.

Yea! Thanks for the input. I guess I've FINALLY made up my mind that 'Ohana is a go!

It will probably be our first night, the Saturday of Thanksgiving week. I am thinking of a 5:30 ADR :teeth: (trying hard to change my PS lingo!) but I would really like to try to get a window seat for the three of us.

Anybody know how hard that will be?

Thanks,
penny

We love Ohana's! We have never felt rushed at all. But we big eaters and stay awhile.

Our favorite restaurant in all of WDW. When asking my DS5 what one place he wanted to eat at, this is what he picked. I have never felt rushed there, although the wait staff does seem to rush around. They have lots of people to serve and they are busy. But, they did not rush us. We always even order an additional dessert (love that chocolate mousse!!) and they don't have a problem with that. Enjoy!!

I don't think Ohanas is rushed at all! I have been there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. This is one of my family's favorite places to eat!! The food and the atmosphere are great and the character interaction at breakfast is just awesome!!
