Which one would you do for breakfast. I was thinking of doing one on our last day. We will be staying at the Poly and we are doing Chef Mickey's the first night for dinner. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Michelle

I am certainly no veteran, but we had our character beakfast at the Ohana and had a great time! Our waitress was very personable, dd had her sign her autograph book and we even got pictues of her. Charcters were Micky, Goofy, Chip and Dale which suited dd just fine. They each spent a decent time at our table for signing and pictures. They had a parade around the dining room and gave the children maroccas (sp?) to use for the parade. We had family style/all-you-could-eat service that included delicious Micky waffles, sausage, various fruit, bacon, scrambled eggs, etc.

I think if you tried Chef Micky for one meal, you might want to go here to try a different place. We were greeted and treated as family...cousins, in fact! Apparently this is a Hawaiian tradition.

We tried to get Chef Micky's one evening for ps charcter dinner. There were no ressies open, so we decided to return to Ohana for their dinner since we had liked it so much. Ask me about this meal if interested!

Rebecca, please tell me about the dinner. My DD wants to go there for dinner also. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Michelle

I'll let Rebecca tell you about dinner at 'Ohana, other than to say it's excellent and I'd go back anytime. Haven't done the breakfast, but I looked in once and everyone seemed to be having a great time and the reviews all seem to be positive.

However, the topic here is getaway day breakfast at the Poly. I have two suggestions:

First, think about breakfast at Kona Cafe. My wife liked the Tonga Toast (sourdough french toast with a banana stuffed into the bread), my omelet was excellent, and Emily loved her pancakes. No pressure, no hurry, we just wandered over to the GCH, waited ten minutes to be seated, ate, went back to the room, changed, took a quick dip in the pool, went back up to dry, change, and pack, and went home. It was great.

Second, try the Wilderness Lodge. We took a cab over, explored for a while (it's pretty cool), had a nice breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe, then took the boat from WL to the MK, walked over to the next pier, and got on the boat that goes from MK to GF to the Poly. Very pleasant.

Just thought I'd share what we enjoyed on our Poly getaway days.

Good luck!

Kevin

Thanks, My DD wants to eat at Kona Cafe maybe we will give it a try. She also heard it was excellent. Michelle

This has become my family's favorite dinner in the world (entire planet, I mean)! I hope to put up dining reviews soon from our trip last week - check them out or (if I take too long!) PM me for details.

may I suggest Ohana for dinner and Chef Mickeys for breakfast?

Our 5 year old loved the dinner and games at Ohana and the characters at Chef Mickeys were very available. Ohana is a great dinner experience. Chef Mickey is really just another buffet. We went to Chef Mickeys for breakfast on our last day, we shopped at the gift shops and picked up a few last souviners. It was a nice way to end the trip. The food at Ohanas was great!

Have only tried Chef Mickey's. We love it and everyone gets into the "napkin twirling". Now I'm dying to try O'Hana's.
