I am surprised to see there is no "Everything you ever wanted to know about Ohana's" thread.

I have never been there, and am looking to try it.

We don't eat Pork, Seafood, and have allergies to Coconut (in the family).

Do you think this is a place we should still try, from what I read the reviews are fabulous.

If there is a "Everything you ever wanted to know about Ohana's" thread, can you point me to it.

Thanks.

First things first....the name of the restaurant is OHANA not Ohana's.

I think you would still find plenty to eat, but if you do go, make sure they know about the coconut allergy from the very beginning so they can stear you clear of anything with coconut in it.

Ohana may not be for you, with what you listed.

Here is Ohana:

It is polyenasian type foods. The meal is served family style and is all you can eat. There is no entrees to choose from, this is what everyone gets and is charged for.

Dinner starts with pineapple-coconut bread, along with a salad with a lime vinegreate (sp) dressing. Next you are served potstickers with pork in them, with 3 dipping sauces: peanut, sweet and sour, asian bbq. Also sticky wings are served, I am not sure what is on them, but they aren't the average "sticky" wing. The veggie side is broccoli with pea pods and carrots, lomein noodles as well.
The meats are from a fire grill, sirloin, pork, chicken and peel and eat shrimp.
Dessert is bread pudding with a banana fosters caramel sauce with vanilla ice cream.

So from what you said about the coconut and seafood allergies, and eating no pork, this menu isn't really for you.
With the allergies they may have to completely make you a seperate meal from what they normally serve (which is why I love it), so it is almost...don't bother. As the games for the kids and the atmosphere isn't worth going by themselves.

Other facts on Ohana is it is loud, slow service and a major pain if you don't love it. We put up with everything as the menu is perfect for us. We love the meat and sides and dessert is the best. But if you can't eat them....it isn't worth it IMO.

While it is the hottest ticket in WDW right now, it really isn't for everyone. Many people are disappointed or mislead.

Does that help at all?
