Just read on another post that there is a rumor that Ohana's is bring back their original menu this week. Goodbye shrimp casserole, hello skewers. I do hope this is true as we are arriving tomorrow afternoon and plan on dining at Ohana's Saturday evening. :stitch: :teeth:

crossing my fingers too! I don't even know what was on the old menu but i know you all are pro old, negative new LOL. We did make reservations because I have not eaten here before.

Have never been there for dinner but have one booked the first week of September. Besides shrimp skewers instead of the shrimp casserole, what else was different? I read somewhere that made it sound like the meats were more like Fogo de Chao where they bring them around on skewers and dish out what you want?

I am not able to find the old menu. Hopefully once we get confirmation we will see the old menu reappear

Yes, they brought around steak, chicken, pork (?), and shrimp on skewers and gave you servings from them. There was also salad, dumplings (which I think gave way to chicken wings?), snd noodles. It was a one and done for us, so I’m a little fuzzy on the menu. We discovered Kona more to our liking. But yes, this new menu sounds atrocious so I’d be happy to hear the old one is returning, for others’ sake.

YAY!!!... but it still says "skillet". So, looks like they swapped the shrimp casserole for the peel and eat, and got rid of the kielbasa- but still a skillet instead of skewers?
So happy though- I go for the shrimp!
Skillet? Skewers? As long as it's not a casserole I'm good.

Oh my we missed it by just DAYS! I received a survey from Disney after returning home on Sunday and they wanted to know about our dining experiences at 'Ohana. I explained that the shrimp caserrole and keilbasa presented like peasant food and that it made the meal feel far less special though they still maintained the high price tag. I didn't even try the Kielbasa, casserole, or Chicken legs. Daughter tried the casserole and thought it was "ok" but she would rather the grilled peel and eat.

The original menu was FAR superior - the steak they served in a skillet was the same steak we'd had from the skewers. I see no reason why they couldn't serve the grilled chicken breast and shrimp the same way, or on mini-skewers to maintain the family style presentation.

We still enjoyed our meal, but definitely think a return to the originial menu is most welcome!

EDIT TO ADD: I just reviewed the menu on the webite - I think that they only changed the shrimp casserole to the peel and eat shrimp. It still says "Grilled Chicken with Chimichurri Sauce" so I think that is the legs that have been served recently, not the grilled chunks of chicken breast that were on the skewers. Definitely a step in the right direction though!

From what I read also changed back to the old Ohana bread/rolls and got rid of the scones and bacon cheddar rolls they had. (I’ve never eaten at ‘Ohana so I’m not sure if I have that info exactly right).

Yes, the signature bread is back on the menu. We had dinner there on Thursday night, and had some sort of a biscuit - I did not try it, so I am not sure which of the 2 that they were serving that it was..
