Are we the only ones on DIS that don't like the new Ohana menu? My family loves Ohana's. We eat there once or twice on our trips. We just went a few weeks ago and they have changed the menu. All my favorites were gone now. I loved the potatoes , the shrimp served in a dish and they are missing in action now. The new pinapple coconut bread was tasty that they serve instead of the chips. The shrimp on the skewers I dont like as much as the old way they made the shrimp. We werent to crazy about the noodles they serve instead of potatoes. We just arent noodle people lol The meat was still good and thank goodness they still have the bread pudding. The waiter told us that they had recently changed the menu and alot of people have been complaining and that the resteraunt does listen to the customers so he said they may being some of the old stuff back. I hope so, cause Ohanas is no longer one of our favorites foodwise. We were really disapointed and wont make another ADR until the menu is changed some.

The menu changes every few years and I wouldn't count on them bringing anything back. People complain every time they make a change. I prefer the menu with the shrimp wontons, green breans and shrimp on skewers. I never thought the potatoes were that great (easily something I could make at home) and I don't like the bread pudding everyone loves. Give me the pineapple and caramel any day.

I forgot about the new wontons. I did like those too. I just dont like the new side dishes and not as crazy about the shrimp on the skewers, they were more spicy or something. Something wasnt as good to me about the shrimp as they were when they were served in a bowl. Oh well if they dont change anything, maybe 2009 menu will have some better side items etc. :) by the way u mentioned green beans, we didnt have greenbeans when we just went. So maybe they have already changed the menu. We had broccoli with ours.

The stuffed shrimp wontons and green beans were from the menu about five years ago. As far as I'm concerned, that was the best version of the menu, although it looks like Ohana is going to be giving us plenty of menus to complain about (or like).

I didnt realize u were talking about 5 years ago menu lol They do have some wonton thing now. I cant remember whats in it, its not shrimp but it is good.

We were there a few weeks ago also and LOVED IT. The food was amazing, the meats were so tender and cooked perfectly. Great wings, noodles, everything was just so good. This was DH and I first try at Ohana and it for sure will not be our last.

Glad you loved it lol I have read alot of reviews on here about positives about ohanas new menu. Thats why I wrote on the first post," am I the only one on Dis that doesnt like the new menu?. "I was just curious to see if there were others that arent crazy about it. Not really looking for everyone that loves it cause I already read all those postive reviews about the new menu, thats what made me wonder if my family were the only ones. So if theres anyone else that wasnt as crazy about ohanas new menu post here so we knew we werent the only ones lol And all the Ohana new menu lovers, thats great I am glad you love the new menu :)

I am not happy that the potatoes are gone. Who cares if you can make them at home? They just do not taste the same as when you are in Disney. My husband is also displeased that the shrimp in a bowl are gone. We go to O'Hana's every year, but when we 7 day land/cruise in May 2009, we are skipping it and trying a new restaurant.

I love udon noodles and green beans, and I'm also good with potatoes, wontons, shrimp how ever they want to serve them. But, if they mess with the wings, I'm canceling. I really don't like the meat on skewers there, but I eat enough of the other stuff to be happy.

This was our favorite meal of our trip last week. We had never been there before, so we don't know about the previous menus, but all three of us thought the food and atmosphere was excellent. (Still dreaming about those wings.)

oboy, now I'm scared. I really liked O'hana last year, but the menu changes are scaring me. what's up w/ the shrimp again? if they are on skewers and grilled like the meats I'm down w/ that, but ... I didn't really care for the potatoes, but honestly there was so much meat to enjoy we didn't worry about potatoes we ate so many french fries it balanced out :lmao:
Now I'm trying to decide whether to possibly book whispering canyon instead; or either use 2 credits for Narcoosee's. I was blown away by them last year, and the view of fireworks was just as good as California Grill to me but with better food, DS and I ate over $250 worth of food on the old plan for only 2 TS credits!

The shrimp are on skewers, and are peel and eat. And sooooo yummy. We're huge meat eaters, so we could care less about any sides. :rotfl:

I was concerned about the new menu but kept our reservations a few weeks ago. We loved the new menu so much that we went again at the end of the week. I did not have the Shrimp or Wontons, but my BF loved them. The noodles are my new favorite and I'm happy they added them. I did speak to the manager at the end of the meal and told him how much we enjoyed the new menu. I also told him how I had been reading many people missed the potatoes. He said that he felt the noodles were a much better product and had been receiving positive response to them.

We ate there 4/5. I did not care for the noodles at all. They were mushy. Yuck! I loved the pork dumplings. The veggies were good but I loved the green beans. Everything else was great. They had a different lady hosting the kids games and I thought that she was just going through the motions and was not into what she was doing. The guy that was there are last 3 trips was a lot of fun. I still love it there.

I booked all my dining today for our up coming trip in Sept(Free Dining), but the one I want the most, I can't get for the entire week before 9 Pm, Ohana!
Any suggestions, should I just keep trying each week? Because otherwise I got all my meals for our 10 night stay except for the night we're doing MNSSHP. She said they'll release those seatings for Liberty Tree this Thursday May 1.

Do I stand a chance, I really want to go to Poly!!!

We w ere at O'hana early April and were not as impressed as last year. We actually liked the pork wontons and we liked the noodles. We really missed the potatoes and the old shrimp. It seems to me that they changed the shrimp to slow them down. We had a terrible time getting them. They kept coming back with meat but never even started the shrimp. Everytime they came I said "and we would like some shrimp". I said it so many times that it became a inside joke. When we finally got shrimp we got each 2 or 3 which was gone right away. When we got the dessert the ice cream was already melted but we had such a bad waiter that we didn't say anything. We just wanted to leave. Since they use more than one waiter we kept our second waiter more than the one that was introduced to us at the beginning.
