We just got back from DW yesterday. Thursday we ate at O'Hana's.
This was the best meal!!! Everything was delicious. I read complaints about changing of the menu from the past. I can't compare since this was our first time, but I know I will definately do this again. Of course I couldn't move after. THIS IS A MUST FOR ALL!!!!

Glad to hear the good review as you mentioned there have been many mixed reviews lately. Hope you had a good time :teeth:

Did you eat there for dinner? Not familiar w/this restaurant. Is it a character meal? What kind of food? Anything for kids?
Thanks!

GREAT!!! It's on my plans for Tuesday - Early seating - 5pm. I was also concerned by the negative comments. I look at it this way...I didn't have to prepare it and I don't have to wash dishes. :rotfl2: Surely, it couldn't be all that bad. :teeth:

It's so funny that you wrote this, because in December we also really enjoyed it. DH said that we will wait a couple of years till we go back to WDW, but last week he came home from work and said that we should go back this December :cool1: . I don't know what changed his mind, but who am I to question such a smart man ;) . Anyway, he said that we could go only as long as I would make an ADR at Ohana for dinner. It seems that a lot of people that tried the old menu are not happy with the changes, but since we never tried the old menu we really loved it.

We ate at O'Hana's for dinner. 6:50pm reservations. It is $25.99 per person.
For starters we had, Fried Wontons served with Peanut Sauce, Chimichurri Sauce and Harissa. And Mixed Greens with a Honey Lime Dressing. For Appetizers we had Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Honey Coriander Chicken Wings. Then we they served the Skewers.. Marinated Sirloin Skeak (my favorite), Asian Barbecued Pork Loin, Mesquite Grilled Turkey, and Hawaiian Pork Sausage with Pineapple-Teriyaki Glaze.

Then we had Maui Scalloped Potatoes (the best I have ever eaten) and Stir freid Vegetables. (my husband loved these)

For dessert...... please make sure to save some room for this...... we had O'hana Bread Pudding a la mode with Banana Foster Sauce. THIS WAS HEAVENLY!!

If you have a picky person in your family. This is not for them. I have a 17 year old, that just stayed at our hotel and ate pizza.

It was a bit expensive but definately worth it. The hotel is so nice. :cool1:

I am sooooooo glad to read a good review of Ohana's! We have never been, and I have made reservations for my friend's birthday dinner there on our trip in July. I have been worried about choosing this place, and I do wish they would carry some of the things on the old menu (bread, pineapple and caramel). Thanks! :thumbsup2

I loved it when I ate there to, but that was my first time there to, after the menu change, so I can't compare to what it was before. I don't think any Ohana - first - timers should be turned off by bad reviews, because that was one of my favorite meals.

Not a character meal but GREAT food and they do do activities for children during the dinners like hula lessons, ect.. ALL of my kids LOVED the food and had soo much fun, we will for sure go back every time now!

I am so glad you enjoyed this restaurant! I am going for the first time in May and so looking forward to it. Thanks for the thumps up vote!! :thumbsup2

We were there on Valentine's day. I have wanted to go for several years and never seem to make it. I was determined to get there this year. It was great!! The food was terrific. The views were amazing. My 6yo DS was a little nervous at first about the games, but he loved the limbo. I have to say though we did have the worst waitress EVER!! My husband is a GM at a restaurant at home. He has been in the business for 25yrs. I thought he was going to strangle her before the end of the evening. But... he did not let the service sour him on the whole experience. I have heard him recommending O'hana's to several people, already. Plus I scored the recipe for the bread pudding before we left that night. We made it 3 days after we got home!!!

I've experienced both menus and I still love it! It's on our ADR list every trip. The Polynesian feel can't be beat!

WAITER!!!!!
MORE BANANA BREAD PUDDING PLEASE!

As I have said in other threads, this is the first ADR we make when planning for a trip to WDW. Glad you enjoyed it!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

It's definitely one of the more popular Irish pubs in the Orlando area!

(Will they roll green coconuts in the races on the17th, I wonder?)

I also loved both menu's, but I prefer the new dessert  . I did like the pineapple, but the bread is Oh My Goodness Good!

Top 'o' the mornin' to ya, Cigar95...You've tapped into one of my ongoing pet peeves, that darn Irish restaurant that doesn't serve corned beef and cabbage or green beer. What's the world comin' to. :rotfl:

As to the menu, I'd say new folks won't be missing a thing with the changes, it's just many of the oldsters (certainly not all though) that won't be returning...Especially if they're calling the potatos 'Maui scalloped potatos' ... Oh brother, those were gross.

That they don't have the shrimp skewers anymore???

Do they still have shrimp on the skewers???? It was my favorite thing at OHANA......

I'm so glad to hear something positive about Ohanas. No matter what since we are such big Stitch fans we are planning on booking it for our far off but upcoming trip. :thumbsup2

I've heard that we can get a kid's menu if needed. Has anyone gotten one or know what's on it?
