We have a reservation at Ohana on 8/28 at 6:30pm. We also booked the dessert viewing for the same night. We are supposed to be there at 8:00. Do you think it will be ok time wise? We heard the dessert at Ohana's is so so anyway so we could skip that I guess? Any help/insight is appreciated!!
Thanks!

If it were me, I would not plan both on the same evening. I think you will be rushing dinner and I hear the dessert at Ohana is one of the best and not to be missed.

The dessert at Ohana, a bread pudding a la mode, is pretty good. Very sweet. If that's not your style and you don't mind the extra expense, I think it wouldn't be bad to do the dessert / fireworks viewing. I would the go to Ohana early maybe 5:00 instead, to get a little more time to digest all that meat before heading into the MK.

I've been trying to get an earlier time. Everything is booked up so far.

Keep trying with the online dinning you can ck any time you have a sec. You never know when something opens up. Good Luck :cool1:

Our 'Ohana meal took two hours. The service was incredibly slow. A friend of mine said that when she's gone (early like around 5 PM), they are rushed in and out. My ADR was at 8:05 and we left after Wishes started at 10 PM. Even if you are in the 'rushed' category, it doesn't seem like you'll have enough time to eat and travel to MK in 90 minutes.

I only heard good things about the 'Ohana dessert before we left and I have to say that I agree with all that I heard. It was quite good. But even if you do opt for the dessert tasting thing, you might be too full to enjoy it. I'd probably schedule it for a different night.

We had dinner at Ohana last week. The dessert was the best part of the meal! It was fabulous and I wish I had some right now.

The Ohana dinner is delicious and the dessert is amazing! I wouldn't do the dinner and dessert/Wishes viewing on the same night.

We had it last week. WOW! I'm not even a huge fan of bread pudding, but I have already found the recipe here on the disboards and am planning to make it very soon. I can't stop thinking about it! That:worship: by far the best dessert we had on our trip!

Ok, so basically I need to get this at an earlier time. I posted a trade on the August thread for an earlier time, hopefully something will become available or someone will be able to trade.
Thanks!!

You will probably also need to check the online ressies constantly. I lucked out yesterday morning around 6:00 a.m., i guess there was a cancellation at Ohana because i got a 5:05 p.m. (nice change from the 8:10 p.m. which was the only thing available weeks ago when i booked and i have been checking regularly and all booked up, i have been able to check more often now with the online system)

Ohana's was our slowest meal. I think we were there about 2 hours. The dessert was very poor. We tried it and left the rest.

Wow, people really do have highly different tastes! I cannot fathom anyone not wanting to lift the gigantic bowl of bread pudding, ice cream and sauce to lick it clean while smearing all over your face. It is soooohohoho good! My dh and kids definitely agree with me on this one. :worship::worship::worship:

My wife and I do this everytime we eat at Ohana's. In our opinion, this is one of the best desserts at Disney.

:thumbsup2

I'm afraid you'd be cutting it real close, as the other posters have said. 'Ohanas is a very slow-paced dinner with great entertainment for the kids, and we don't get out of there in less than 2 hours. It's probably closer to 3, cause we take our sweet time and try to squeeze every last drop of fun out of the experience. When we leave, we are stuffed like that little blue girl from Willy Wonka. And the dessert...I know people have different tastes and all, but good gosh! That bread pudding is slap-your-momma good! What I'm trying to say here is this: if it were my group, I'd try to schedule the two events on separate nights. 'Ohana is an entire evening's entertainment on its own.

You sure are planning a fun vacation for your group...'Ohanas AND the Wishes dessert buffet! Got room for one more person?? :yay:

Good luck!
