Ohana

Can you please tell me about your experiences with Ohana? We are going next year and using Deluxe dining. It will be me, DD 8, DS 4, and my mom. My DS wants to go to Ohana's for the breakfast. So we will be doing this. I would like to know about the dinner. Is it entertaining for kids? What happens during the dinner?

I don't believe anything "happens" during dinner. But if you go at a time when Wishes would be going on you can view and hear the fireworks stuff from in the restaurant.

During the dinner they have a guide who does fun things with the kids. They have Hula dancing lessons, coconut races, they sing and do a parade around the place. DS was 7 when we went and he loved it.

This was also one of my favorite character breakfast. I enjoyed the food better than the buffet style.

When we've gone for dinner they have activities for kids. I'm not sure if everything is exactly the same, but we had hula hoop contests and a broom/coconut race. The kids who were there seemed to have a great time.

I don't know about dinner. I don't think it is a character meal. We ate there for breakfast and the food was especially good. The Mickey waffles were great! They do alittle parade every thirty minutes or so that your kids can participate in. You meet Lilo, Stitch and Mickey. They take your picture too!

No characters at dinner, but as others have said, there *is* "entertainment" in the form of a ukelele player (sometimes a man, sometimes a woman) who also sings and organizes the kids into activities such as hula hoop contest; coconut/broom races around the restaurant; they ask who is celebrating a birthday or anniversary and will sing to them at their table. It's a lot of fun, actually, even if you don't have young children to participate in the games. We stay at the Polynesian a lot and DH and I always book at least 1 dinner there

My kids loved dinner at Ohana when they were younger. Now they are 15 and 11 and "too cool" to do the coconut races. The restaurant is very family friendly.

Wow! You guys are great! I think coconut races and hula lessons are perfect for my kids. I think this is one we will have to schedule!

And the food is really good too...we LOVE the pork dumplings, shrimp, & the bananas foster bread pudding is pure heaven!!!!
