In June, Ohana opens at 5:00 for dinner. There is no tables all night. Any luck showing up at 4:30ish for a stand by table?

You can certainely try but expect a long wait of up to an hour or more....But who knows maybe you will get lucky and get right in! I wouldnt count on it though and I'm sure someone will be along to say " I got seated right away" but that is highly unlikely.
Good Luck!!! :wizard:

When my fiance and I did this at opening, we were quoted a possible 3 hour wait and we decided to try our luck. We waited twelve minutes! Now, we didn't go in such a busy month at June, but I would definetly try it - your success may depend on how many people are in your party. We only had two so maybe that affected it. Good luck!

I dont think Id chance that..Can you not make a ADR? Just keep checking, maybe you wont get the time you want but if you can snag one take it and then keep checking and you may be able to get a better one..Thats what I do normally, Ohana is a pretty sought after ADR..

We did this once and waited 4 minutes. We did it another time and gave up waiting around 7:30 PM (2 1/2 hours!) and went to Kona.

Anytime we have been there the line starts forming around 4:15 for people to try and get a table. And we have always heard the hostess say it is a 3+hour wait.

We did stand by and they quoted 2 1/2 hrs....it actually took more like 3 hrs, but the CM's kind of messed up....so taking longer might not be normal. We had nothing to do that night, so hanging out at the Poly wasn't too bad (for the first 2 hrs)....but I won't do it again.

I have also seen a lot of reports of a nightmare wait even with reservations.

Some people have been lucky and gotten in right away. BUT..that may be due to someone's not showing up and not canceliing their ADR. The vast majority of people have long waits. And for me...there is not one single restaurant at WDW that is worth more than an hour of my time spent in waiting for a table to open up. But, that's just me.

Depending on how many people are in your party it can be done
We were quoted 1 hour and it was a 10 minute wait and it was only 3 of us
last time it was 6 of us and they could not seat us at all!

When DH and I went to 'Ohana in January, we were in line to check in. We had a 5 pm ADR but the 2 couples in front of us did not. We started to line up at the podium around 4:20, BTW.

The folks who dod not have an ADR were told they could wait standby but it could be 2-3 hours and they both decided to wait. (I listened, I'm nosey!)

Anyway, DH and I were seated promptly at 5pm. We noticed that the first couple got seated by us after about 45 min.

After our meal, which we got done at 7:30, we noticed that the second couple was still waiting for their table. Personally, I wouldn't wasted precious Disney time waiting that long for a table for dinner.

We were just there a few weeks ago with a 5:05 ADR and the check in podium wasn't manned until a few minutes before 5 even though there was a line of people waiting to check in. We were the first table seated and the whole place was full within 15 minutes. While I LOVE Ohana, I would not wait 3 hours for it!
