Hi,

I am currently debating about going to Ohana or not. We are staying at Polynesian. It would be two of us and probably not until about 8:30 - depending how late we stay at Animal Kingdom.

Is it okay for two adults? Or does it not make sense if we don't have children? I was unsure if it was more child oriented.

Do they serve alcohol?

Is all the food included on the dining plan?

Is the food still fresh that late? I know it's brought to you family style/on skewers.

Thanks!

Yes it is great for two adults. I used to go all the time when I was married, no kids. Now I'm not married and have a kid and it was still great :) It is not child oriented, but there is some stuff for the kids to do.

Yes, they serve alcohol. Including alcohol in a pineapple that apparently will knock you on your butt. I got the island sunset which was less potent.

Yes the food is a 1TS on the dining plan.

The food is still fresh, yes, but that late the one thing to be prepared for is they tend to get a bit behind so you might have a long wait. That said if you are interested in adult beverages, you wait in the Tambu Lounge which is the bar that serves the restaurant, and you can have a drink or two then.

IMO it is worth the wait - we had a fantastic meal there in december. But if you show up starving and get grumpy it could ruin the whole experience.

Thanks! We will have a snack at Animal Kingdom before we go, so that will work.

I like that the food doesn't seem too heavy for a later dinner, I can choose how much I want to eat vs how much he wants! Also, best part, we are already "home" when we are done eating!

It will be on a Friday night, so if we choose it, I will make reservations as soon as I'm allowed. :)

We looove Ohana for dinner! It would be perfect for two adults. I imagine you'll see many people without children. Definitely agree that you'll have to wait - I don't think we've ever been seated at 'Ohana on time. But it's so worth the wait!

If you're staying at the Poly, you could also get the room service version of the 'Ohana dinner if you don't want to eat in the restaurant or have trouble getting a reservation. There's a thread on it here.

My hubby and I go all the time! We don't have kids (yet)
It's one of our fave meals

Sorry one more question!

I was looking at pictures of restaurant and I don't see any two top tables...how is the seating, do we sit with others?

Nope. I honestly can't picture 2 top tables there, but I've always been eating with 3 other people, so I've never been looking for them. But it isn't community style seating :)

There are some smaller tables. It's not communal. You'll need the table space for service and for your drinks anyway.

Thanks all! I would be thrilled with a table for 4, lots of room! :)

They actually have tables for 3 that parties of 2 sit at. it is smaller than a table for 4 but an oversized table for 2 because as others have mentioned, you need it for all of the food and BIG DRINKS.

Two adults...Yes...Alcohol...Yes...Dining plan...Yes...Bread pudding...Yes!!!

It is my DH's favorite meal. We went at about 8 pm in August last year. We were lucky enough to be near a window and saw the electric water parade go by. Definitely worth it!

DH and I have eaten several times. We've are often seated at a 3 top. When we check in, we generally request a table not right on the aisle so we aren't right in the middle of the kid stuff.

There are two or three tables for two/three next to the partition wall between the entrance and the dining area. There are several tables for 3 scattered about. But, most of the tables are for 4. You'd want one of those, in order to have space for all the stuff they'll be heaping on you.
