I know Ohana serves their food family style. So I was wondering if it as just DH and I, would they give us our own table or seat us with another group or something. Might seem like a weird question but I figured I'd make sure before we did our ADRs and since I wasnt able to find any pictures of just two people eating together there.

Also, do you think the food at Ohana is better than the food at Kona?

Thanks!

I have never heard of the joining parties at Ohana.

Personally, I like Kona better than Ohana. I may have given Ohana a slight edge before the recent menu change, but with the current menu at Ohana, Kona wins out for us.

DH and I sat by ourselves in Febuary and the resturant was packed! We had a ton of food for just the 2 of us but they didn't seem to care!

DH and I sat by ourselves on our last trip that was just the 2 of us. They brought plenty of food and we had a great time. I have never eaten at Kona so I can't compare the 2.

thanks guys! I'm really torn between Kona and Ohana. I havent heard great things about the food at Kona but the atmosphere seems like it would be nicer for just the two of us.

DH and I have been to 'Ohana twice - both times as a party of two and had a table just the two of us.

We had ADR's for Kona one of our trips and once I saw that it really was a "cafe" atmosphere and very open to the lobby - I wasn't very interested. I feel that at least a place like Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge, for example, seems so well separated from the lobby that you don't feel like people walking past are your view from your meal. Walking past Kona, I could "check out" the people eating, etc. That just didn't appeal to me. Because of this I have yet to try Kona, but I'm absolutely hooked by 'Ohana!!

The food at Kona is excellent, I think most people would consider it better than Ohana. But they are also totally different types of restaurants so the best thing to do is check out the menus for both and see which one appeals to you more.
