So, we had reservations at 'Ohana (for 6). my cousin and his family will be at the World the same time as us, and since they are staying at the Poly, we thought it would be fun to have dinner with them there. So, I called a few days ago and tried to modify our ADR for 10 people. The CM could only modifiy it up to 8. She said to keep calling back, but she also hinted that since she made the ressie for 6 adults and 2 kids, we might be able to "squeeze in" the 2 extra kids when we got there. Will that be possible, or should we just take a later ADR (the earliest we can get is 9pm)? --Katie

Honestly, I would just keep your ressie (if you are happy with the time) and tell them when you check in that your party is now 10. You might have to wait a bit, but you still might get to eat earlier than 9pm.

To be honest trying to fit more in at Ohana, those extra people will more likely be turned away.

It is best to try to either schedule a seperate adr for 2 around the same time, and then at the podium ask if you can sit close or wait and see if something pops up.

Trust me, I have seen people turned away at Ohana, it is a popular restaurant. It is not as easy as PP said, nor the CM that "hinted" to you. THat CM is NOT there, they do not know the rules the restaurant has to follow....fire codes and such. So it is misleading to tell you that.

Just trying to prepare you so you aren't disappointed. Now is the time to try to change it, NOT when you get there.

Good luck I hope it works out for you.

I'd keep the reservation for the 8 people and then tell them you have two more people when you get there and ask if they could please get them in with you. I think they will accommodate you, as we have had a similar situation in the past and they were very nice about it.

I would keep checking online everyday to try and find a table for 10. People change their plans all the time so you never know when something will open up.

'Ohana is a very popular restaurant and is usually fully booked. Fire code regulations will limit the number of walk ups they can accommodate. If you show up with 2 extra people you might be lucky, but be prepared for the 2 to be turned away. I would definitely have a Plan B ready.

Do NOT give up your reservation. The table that seats 8 will seat 10. Just go up to the desk and let them know nicely that your party is for 10, not 8 as previously though. Get there a a little earlier. You'll be FINE! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input, guys. It seems like the jury is split on this one!
Stepdisney-- The CM thought that the table would only seat 8 (comfortably at least)-- that's why the system let us change from 6 to 8 without a problem (they must have had us 6 at a table that could already hold eight). But, the system would not let us bump it up to ten. What size tables do they have at 'Ohana-- are there different size tables for parties of 8 than for parties of 10?? Thanks again for all your input. I am checking back daily to see if something opens up. --Katie

We are a party of 4 and the table where they sat us for 3 years straight would fit 6 people easily. I would think that it would be 4/6 and 8/10 personally. The table where we sat was round and it was huge! I am PMing you with more info. :goodvibes
