'Ohana reservation for six...plus 1?

I have made a reservation for 6 at 'Ohanas...I actually have one more 9 year old boy that will be coming with us on our vacation. Is there a possibility that they can get him in with us on the reservation for six? Should we just show up for the reservation and announce that we have one more kid? Should I go to 'Ohanas the day before and make sure this can be accommodated so as to not get charged the $10/head cancellation? Do you think this is even an option, or should I cancel and use our Biergarden ressie for the same time instead?

I've been trying to get a reservation for one for dinner around the same time to no avail... Been trying for over two months. Cancelled my original ressie for 5 and REBOOKED immediately for 6. Couldn't get it to give me a ressie for 7 which is what I need with the two extra bodies that are coming with us in September.

It's most likely they'll let him in...but if the restaurant is at full capacity for fire codes when you arrive, they won't let even one extra person in. It's rare, but it happens. Have an alternative in mind. The other problem you have is that if they won't let an extra person in and you decline the reservation for the full party, you're subject to the $10 per person charge.

I think I'll just CHANCE IT! I can't imagine that they couldn't accommodate one more. But, I will have to be prepared to fork over $60! Seriously, the wings are worth the gamble!

Would it be possible to split the party up if they deny the extra? They don't care which one is "the extra", so if someone (or a couple someones) want to head off to a different restaurant at that time, you could do that as well and not get charged the NoShow/Cancel fee. Just another option to keep in mind. Not really ideal since you'd have to split up, but it could work out.

That is also another option that I have "put into play." We have discussed this and it is a great idea! We might need a "break" from each other by then!

I'm sorry, did you say September or December? 'Cause if it's December then I really think you MOST CERTAINLY should cancel...and tell me the time of your res...and when exactly you are canceling...

I think I have read that you cannot get a table for one at Ohana. Have you tried getting a table for two? If you get it, you can reduce your reservation for 6 to 5. Then you'll have reservations for all 7.

You can get a table for 1, but you could also try looking for a table for 2 - sometimes the res system wants to maximize the number of diners so when it "sees" a table for 2 will only give it to a party of 2 even though someone is searching for just a solo diner.

It's frustrating trying to get a res for 'Ohana because it seems to be the most difficult res to snag in DW currently. Checking online multiple times a day can get discouraging, especially because you're looking for a specific time and date, but if you want to ensure that all of you will be seated, it's worth the work.

Going to 'Ohana the day before probably won't help. The CM will most likely tell you that it will depend on the circumstances the next day and not give you an absolute assurance.

I think it really depends on their table configuration. If they actually have tables that seat exactly 6, then you could have a problem. If that's what they have, they might not be able to just squeeze someone else in. I think if you were going from 5 to 6 it would be a pretty sure thing for the same reason. 6 to 7 might prove to be a little more tricky.
