'Ohana recent visit 12/15

I am quite torn on what to do….not liking all the negative reviews I've been reading. We have only dined there once before (it was OK but it's been awhile and I want a refresher) and we have a 9:15 res coming up on our Jan. trip. I am leaning towards canceling it in hopes that the management will get enough complaints to do something about it and fix it by summer (provided people actually ARE complaining to the management so that something IS done). If the meat is undercooked and chewy & slimy I hope people DO complain. Disney buffet prices are outrageous and I'm not in the mood to pour good money down the drain. I still have a couple of weeks to cancel and probably WILL. We have been kicking around the idea of just trying to do the new Skipper Canteen as walkups instead that night. We will be staying at the new DVC at the Poly on our June trip so I just made an ADR for that week as it will be even more convenient than on our January trip. 90% sure I will cancel the January res…..

My DH and I just ate at Ohana last night, 12/19. This was (I think) our 4th time eating here. We were very unimpressed! Our biggest complaints: food was cold and service was not good. We didn't have the experience of the overcooked food like a lot are saying. If anything, my meats were undercooked. The chicken (the one bite I ate) and the steak had no flavor. I did enjoy the taste of the pot stickers, the shrimp, the noodles, and the broccoli, but all of it was cold! As far as service, I felt like they brought everything out fairly quickly, but I did wait 10-15 minutes for a drink refill and the waitress completely forgot my DH's coffee to go with the dessert. He didn't want to ask about it because it had taken us 20 minutes to get the dessert, and we figured we would have to wait another 20 to get the coffee. Dessert would have been gone by then! We did not complain to a manager, as my DH has allergies (allergic to what we don't know, allergy testing shows nothing) and he was beginning to have some issues (as he does at every restaurant close to the end of the meal) and we had to leave immediately so he could get some fresh air. We have an ADR for June with our whole family, but I'm not sure we will keep it. It's just too much money for mediocre food. It used to be our favorite restaurant.

I've either had amazing food at Ohana or the complete opposite. I think I'd rather stop at Kona instead from now on.
