Can anyone tell me if its possible to get french fries or plain ice cream here?

Basically the majority of the family (4 of us) really want to try this place but my Dad wont eat noodles or vegetables so would need to have fries to make it a meal for him. Plus he also wont eat the bread pudding but I saw some photos of the bread pudding with ice cream so thought he could just have this (assume its just vanilla?).

Ask. Disney is very good about catering to special requests. I'm not positive as we didn't eat at the counter service place downstairs at our last visit, but there may be fries available there.

If you call ahead you may have better luck with special requests. Be sure to ask about the ice cream too.

Hi, I would go regardless. There's always something someone may not like that is on their dinner menu. The dinner offering is "family style", which means every thing is put in bowls on your table, and then you help yourself...except when they bring the skewers around with the meat. There is PLENTY to eat, so he really wouldn't be missing anything if he didn't "replace" the noodles with french fries. Believe me, he wouldn't need the fries to make it a meal! Personally, I don't care for grilled shrimp, so I decline it, but I wouldn't expect them to grill me chicken instead. There is so much of everything, that there is no way he'd leave hungry, or feel like he missed anything.

They do bring out separate plates of the Banana Foster. Before you get your's I'd simply ask for them to just bring the icecream, sans the sauce and bread pudding.

dont forget they have great welcome bread, many meats, and salad which are all great and filling. Since they use vanilla icecream on the dessert i'm sure they'd let him have some plain icecream. Don't skip Ohana, it's our favorite meal in DW. We dont eat the vegetables either! lol

I can't speak for the french fries but we were there in August and had someone in our group with a banana allergy and just wanted the ice cream. They were very kind about bringing out a bowl for them. It wasn't a big deal at all. Have fun!! We LOVED it!

My kids had hot dogs and french fries and for dessert our server brought them vanilla ice cream. All you have to do is ask.

We didn't ask for fries, but we did get 3 bowls of plain ice cream for the kids - along with the good stuff for the adults.

I can't eat shrimp because I'm allergic, but I never ask for a "substitution". The meal is very filling and there is more than enough. Why won't a grown man eat veggies or noodles? We loved everything we had and it was a chance to try something different.

I guess you can get french fries sice they have it for the children. I'm kind of amazed how many grown men are mentioned on this site (and on cruise critic) as being picky eaters and not eating veggies and having to have potatoes of some kind. It's rarely a woman who has to have something different.

Thanks for all your replies. Think I will just drag him along and he f is that desperate for fries he can ask himself.

You would not believe how fussy he or my brother are with food, makes hard work picking places for us to visit. Me my husband and mum are easy and like to give anything a try once, I think maybe we should just leave them at home, would be alot easier

We LOVE OHana's and our VERY picky kid was able to get chicken nuggets and fries-just make sure you ask early because for some reason it takes a while to cook them! ENJOY! You won't be disappointed!
