I keep hearing how wonderful Ohana is. So I called this morning for my 90 day reservations. This is the one I couldn't get exactly when I wanted and it is at 8:50. So I'm trying to find out if it is really worth having such a late dinner. My kids are 11 and 12, both girls. The 12 year old is pretty mature. So would the fun and games here be good for these "tweens" or is it geared toware younger kids? Also, the menu is different on every post I read. Has anyone gone recently and if so, what does it included now?

As always, thanks so much for your valuable help!!!

Hi. 8:50pm is a good time for dinner! Ohana is so great! They dont do much games and such, they do invite children or anyone celebrating a birthday (i went up and i was 25) and they sing. They also do a parade, ok i guess that's a lot, but your kids wouldnt have to go up unless they wanted to, they get shakers and trail around the center of the restaurant after the singer. It's cute.. but make sure you ask for a table away from the parade route or you will LITERALLY have parents and kids on top of you as they pass your table or huddle around you trying to get pics of their kids. That was NOT fun for me and my DH w/o kids. Now i know to ask, lol. It's really cool seeing the fire pit, which is a good thing to ask to be in view of... there are tables behind this area and you wont see any of it. We like to coordinate dinner w/ the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. If they're at 9pm (most common time) I would get to Polynesian at 8:30, find a spot on the beach and get ready for the show.. there is also a great waterpageant that is a must see on the lake, around 9:20pm if fireworks are at 9pm. So i would get a reservation for 9:30 or 9:40pm. You could of course eat first, i would suggest a 7:15pm or 7:30pm. If you get like a 7pm, you could use your extra time after dinner to use your arcade card in their rec room. It's in the magic your way package, if you have a disney resort reservation. Your time at 8:50pm is good, just ask for the window seat so you can see fireworks, you can also see them from the waiting area, but a little hard to see w/ all their foliage outside. The beach view is the best. I ate there in March, and there was lo mein noodles instead of the cheddar potatoes, other than that the food has stayed the same pretty much. Their chocolate milk is great (same as everywhere in WDW). Enjoy your dinner it'll be great! :thumbsup2

I also had an 8:50pm ressie on my 90 day and was able to change it to a 7:30pm later but I checked online daily 2-3 times and finally I found an earlier time. I would definitely keep the ressie because they are hard to come by but I would keep checking on line you never know. I would keep the ressie it will be worth it. :)

I always eat at Ohana late like that to view Wishes! :)
