Ohana Question

I was just able to score a 4:25 pm reservation to Ohana after weeks of trying. It would be replacing a 6:30 Whisperin Canyon Cafe. Which do you all feel is our better option? Never been to either. It's just my girlfriend and I. Thanks.

And looking at their menu everything says it comes with peanut sauce and I have a peanut allergy. Is this optional?

Leaving out an allergen is almost always an option. Note it on your ADR, and remind them again at the podium, and your server.

Between the two, we prefer Ohana'. We enjoy the food at Whispering Canyon but we have eliminated it from our favorites for a couple reasons. It is very, very loud (more so than some others), and it is not that easy to get from there back to the parks if you have a later fast pass. We always felt a bit rushed to get back and I like to relax and eat. Ohana' is on the monorail line, so if you are going back to Epcot or MK, it's way more convenient. And the food at Ohana' is really delicious.

I would do O'hana. We like the food and the atmosphere is lovely. Hawaiian music, games, etc. Whispering Canyon is a little too chaotic for us!

If you have a peanut allergy, I would choose WCC. While 'Ohana, like all of Disney, do their best with allergies and have an excellent allergy protocol, that kitchen is THICK with peanuts, as is the dining room. Depending on your sensitivity, this may be a problem. I have a friend who would end up with hives just being there.

If it's just the two of you, I would choose 'Ohana, provided that the peanut allergy can be accommodated.

Ohana is relaxed while Whispering Canyon is fun. I love them both & would decide based on what type of atmosphere I was looking for. However, with your allergy I'd slant more towards Whispering Canyon. Plus, all you can drink milkshakes!!!

I agree that it depends on 'how allergic' you are. Are you fine as long as you don't eat them? If you're iffy on that, I would pick WCC, because as the PPs have said, it really is just everywhere in 'Ohana. If that isn't a deal breaker for you, I would definitely choose Ohana, though.

My son has a peanut allergy and we will not have dinner there if he is at Disney. My daughter and I have eaten there and the peanut sauce is everywhere and the chance of cross contamination is high.
Even when all of us have breakfast there we make sure to wipe down the table and his chair although no peanuts are served in the morning. (And I hate to say it but the chairs in particular have been very sticky and dirty with a substance that could very well be peanut sauce.) I think it is too risky to chance it if your allergy is severe as most peanut allergies tend to be.

I would definitely do Ohana. You won't regret it. Ohana is on our families must do list every time we go to Disney world !!!!

Do not go to Ohana with a peanut allergy. The sauces are all over the tables. They do clean them, but my brother has severe peanut allergy and I would never want him in that restaurant.

I would keep WCC. Unless your allergy is very mild, you are playing with fire. You may be served food that has no peanuts in it but the residue is all over that place.

If the peanuts give you a reaction, you will totally regret it.

Keep in mind many of the people lauding the food at 'Ohana are not allergic to peanut sauce, and are eating all the food with peanut sauces. So the perspective on flavor is seasoned liberally with peanuts.
