Is Ohana's a buffet type restaurant, or do you order from a menu? I have read some dining reviews about it and it seems like they ate a ton of different food which would seem like a buffet type deal so anybodys info will be greatly appreciated. TIA

It is family style. There is a set menu and they bring dishes of the food to your table. It is still all you can eat. They will bring you more of something if you would like it. We have only eaten dinner there and the CM was very eager to bring us more if we wished.

ok so its all you can eat of what you order on the menu?

They have a list of set stuff on the menu and its all you can eat. Like for breakfast they may list, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, sausage, mickey waffles, fresh fruit, etc. They will bring you big plates of all of this the first go around. When you run out and want more of something you just tell your waitress that you want more eggs and waffles for example. You can get as much as you like. Its so yummy for breakfast. Cant wait to get there in March!!

That is a horrible review of O'hana. I WAS excited about it, but now I am changing my ADR.

I just read the review and i was not expecting that at all, seems like everybody here raves about Ohana . I know everybodys taste differs but they didnt beat around the bush to say this place stinks thats too bad i was excited to eat there.:confused3 :sad2:

Wow, who ever wrote that review was having a bad day.

One of the things that sets 'Ohana apart from other Disney World restaurants is that during a long sit down dinner, children actually get to get up from the table and play, have fun. Isn't that what we go to WDW for.

The food's not gourmet, but it's plentiful, and it's reasonably good.

'Ohana is not a 5 star/diamond/whatever restaurant, it's not a place for a quiet, romantic dinner for two, but it is a great place for family fun.

Like everything else at Disney World...

Relax and enjoy.

I would caution against changing a reservation on the basis of one review. Opinion of restaurants is very subjective.

I've always thought Ohana was pretty good, myself.

Well we love O'hana. We have 3 ADR's there in two weeks... 2 breakfast 1 dinner. Breakfast is great (especially the bread and juice). Dinner is a ton of food. Salad, Wings, Potstickers, Noodles or rice (I can't remember), Vegies all are served family style. Then the food runners come out with 4 different kinds of meat on skewers that is grilled over a wood fire. Turkey, Steak, Pork, and Shrimp. Then a great bananas foster style dessert!!!

I say make your ADR's and enjoy! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Does most of the food taste sweet, i saw pics of some of the food and it almost looks like a lot of it has some kind of a coating.

I'm aware the noodles have a sweet and sour sauce.

I would not describe most of the food as sweet or spicy, but it isn't plain food.

I am not sure I could recommend Ohana (dinner; never been to breakfast but the offerings sound like traditional American breakfast) for a family that prefers plain, traditional food items with no sauces or spices.

I agree with the others. Ohana has enough great reviews that I would never let one bad one change my mind. We stayed at the Poly and ate breakfast at Ohana on our last trip. It was fabulous! The meal is served family style so there are set things that they bring you on large plates (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, assorted warm breakfast breads, fruit) and then they also came around with Mickey waffles or pancakes, can't remember which. Drinks are orange juice, milk, coffee, and water. You can eat as much as you want and they will refill the plates of the different items as needed. Plus there are characters - it's the only place to see Lilo and Stitch. I would highly recommend the breakfast there. We are going again this May.

I have an ADR for Ohana for my trip in a couple of weeks. I'm keeping it. I've read to many positive things to allow one writer's opinion influence my decision. :goodvibes

No not at all. Except for the Wings, they were kinda sweet and tangy, but that was the only thing.

I don't know who did that review either, but we LOVE O'hana. We found the food some of the best we experienced on Disney property. Yes, it was pretty loud. Aside from the experience at Chef Mickey's, it was one of the few times the kids get to run around at a resturant. They enjoyed themselves and come to think of it, we did to. It was just a good time! The service was excellent as well. :)

We loved Ohana the 2x we've eaten there.

I've never been steered wrong on these boards and the one thing I've learned is that if the majority of people seem to like it it's probably a good bet even if it gets a few bad reviews.
